NCAA Week #13 Pick 'em

Thanksgiving Day and I have had nothing to eat yet, this computer isn't looking half bad right now. Back at this week, getting my picks in with at least 24 hours to spare. Locked my picks in on Tuesday morning, since then the lines have moved the on publicly backed dogs, which scares me a little bit. Oh well, we will drive on any how. No NFL picks this weekend either, just haven't liked any spreads as of late. Here is what I have for College action:

Arkansas +13 Last week at Miss State was a classic look ahead game for the Razorbacks, they didn't take the bait................Arkansas came out focused on both ends of the field. I am aware they play much better at home, like any team. However, they always play LSU tough. Here is my thinking on why I am taking the points and Arkansas when I took LSU +5 when they played Alabama, even though Alabama thumped Arkansas. Still with me? Alabama has a NFL secondary which managed to cause coverage pressure, LSU while an excellent defense just does not have as good a secondary as 'Bama. Therefore, I do not foresee them being able to handle Wilson, Gragg, Childs and Adams as well as the Tide. Make sense? Alot of pressure on LSU here, day game............that makes Death Valley more like Happy Valley. LSU wins a tight game, 3-5 points will be the difference.Loss.

4 Units.

Cal +6 Cal has covered 4 of 5 and been pretty competitive this season, Arizona State has lost 4 of 5 failing to cover their last 3. Arizona State's last win was against mighty Colorado. I get it, the Sun Devils have a 12' 8" QB and an overrated LB..........ok. I realize that Cal is not a strong road team but I still think we are getting 3 more points our way from Vegas. I'll take it!Win.

4 Units.

Virginia +5 Simply put I am not sold on the Hokies and they will struggle in this game to a sleeper Cavalier team. Virginia is a 5 point dog in their own house. Staunch defense and solid QB play from Rocco will get this team and us a W. The Cavs new coach is a good story and has this team focused, VT won't be able to count on points off Beamer Ball as this Cavalier team is too disciplined.Loss.

3 Units.

Notre Dame +8 Stanford better be careful here, their season is all but over anyways but I am sure they do not want a 2nd loss here. Notre Dame struggles against fast defenses (USF) but Stanford has a slow defense which struggles to cover the edges. I have been waiting for the Cardinal to get exposed all season long, the Ducks beat them soundly. I think they will be in for a surprise with ND giving them all they can handle, Luck has not been impressive this year and is missing his best WR, so the Stanford offense could struggle in the passing game and ND is decent against the run, which always helps when facing a running back by committee. Loss.

4 Units.

Duke +13 The Blue Devils are 3-8 but they do like to hang around like a fly that will not be swatted. Rivalry game here as the dislike between the two schools is heating up with BB season underway. UNC has already mailed it in as they already have become bowl eligible in what has been a disappointing season for them. Duke won't lay down and forces you to beat them down till the end of the game, 13 points is too much in this contest.Loss.

3 Units.

There you have it my friends, enjoy your Thanksgivings and stuffed wallets. Also keep an eye on the Texas A&M vs. Texas game, that line is getting a little high, if it hits +10, might be time for a small play! If anybody sees Joker out and about give him a hug as he seems like he is about to set himself ablaze. I think all this Skyrim playing has had an affect on his handicapping skills!

NCAA Week #12 Pick 'em

Down to the wire getting my picks in again this week, good thing all my games are on Saturday I guess. Anyway, I am pressed for time so lets get to the picks:

L'ville +1 L'ville has been playing some decent ball and have improved at the QB position this year and their defense has been coming along as well. I like them on the road against UCONN here as the Huskies haven't exactly been a powerhouse either. Cardinals outright.Win.

3 Units.

Arkansas -13 I wanted to punch myself for not taking the Razorbacks last week, oh well. The Bulldogs are an eyesore on offense and Tyler Wilson and his record setting WR's should have success against the "vaunted" defense of the Bulldogs. Just can't fathom how MSU will keep pace on the scoreboard with that offense. Arkansas will big play their way to a comfortable win.Win.

3 Units.

Vanderbilt -1 The Commodores are one of my best kept secrets this season, defense travels well and they will be up for the challenge in Knoxville against their in state rival. Vandy and Jordan Rodgers are heading in the right direction, towards my bank! Loss.

3 Units.

Miami -1 I took alot of road teams with small spreads this weekend. While Miami's record is not impressive their schedule is. USF is garbage, the team does not care for the coach and it shows in their play. Miami will exact revenge for last year in this game. Miami has been a pretty consistent team ATS this year while USF has not. Canes win comfortably.Win.

4 Units.

Kansas State +8 The Wildcats continue to get zero respect from Vegas and I have been riding them to a payday week in and week out. They have lost 2 games to teams from Oklahoma, maybe you had heard of them. Texas is overrated as per usual as Mizzou spelled out last week. I like the Cats to keep this game within 3 points. Win.

3 Units.

There you have it, let's hope I can pull even with that Chicago Kid character this weekend as he has been applying the pressure to me all season long!

NCAA Week #11 Picks & NFL Week 10 Pick 'em

Decent week last week, overdue as well. Here is my latest attempt on getting to the top of the food chain in our yearly handicapping challenge. Actually getting my picks up in time for once, that is called progress my friends! Here is what I have for you this weekend:

Houston -35 The Cougars keep lighting up the scoreboard and that trend will continue this week as I think they will win this game by 42-45 points over the Green Wave, Tulane is a bad team and Houston really needs the style points to keep their boat in the race.Win.

2 Units.

West Virginia +4 The Mountaineers need this game badly to get a shot at a BCS bowl game, they have the offense to do it, but will their defense show up? I don't think Cincy is 4 points better than WVU at this point. Getting some value here after the Mountaineers lost to L'ville last week, who is a bit of an underrated team defensively and they have been getting some decent QB play as of late too. WVU keeps it within 3.Win.

2 Units.

Oklahoma State -17 Pokes survived a scare last weekend, Tech got blown out yet again. I'm not buying the Red Raiders win versus Oklahoma, since then they have been laying eggs true to form. The Cowboys are sitting pretty at #2 and won't take Tech lightly. Pokes cruise.Win.

3 Units.

Kansas State +5 The Wildcats are at home and coming off a close loss to Ok. State. Here comes A&M who has folded up shop for this season and will be without their leading rusher. I know KSU will do some scoring against a permeable A&M defense, they keep it within 5.Win.

3 Units.

TCU +16 Boise St. has failed to cover in 3 of 5 games, 2 of which were at home. You don't think TCU would love to ruin their season. Even at home 16 points is too much for 2 programs who know each other well. TCU keeps it close throughout.Win.

3 Units.

NCAA Week 10 Pick em

Little late posting my picks as I have been under the weather. Miserable week last week that's pretty much been a microcosm of my season. Lets get to my latest attempt to go 0-5.

Tulsa +2 This game has already been played and I do have my bet slip handy for any doubters! I took Tulsa bc UCF has been unable to produce any offense with consistency this season an Tulsa has plenty of offense. Win.

3 Units.

Vanderbilt +13 The Commodores are a solid defensive squad, with Jordan Rodgers at QB now they should be able to move the ball. Florida makes too many mistakes, even though they are home I have my doubts about how excited they will be to play Vandy. Vandy keeps it to close for comfort1! Win.

3 Units.

Rutgers +3 Why is USF favored on the road? How many conference wins do they have again? Enough said, Rutgers is no powerhouse but they are at home against an underwhelming opponent, Rutgers outright. Win.

3 Units.

LSU +5 I can't see this game turning into a shootout, both teams are very talented on both sides of the ball. Its in Crimson Tide country so that explains 3 of the 5 points here, not sure where Vegas feels LSU needs another 2. Lets not forget that LSU has beaten 5 ranked opponents this year and always plays Alabama tough. I will take the points here. Win.

3 Units.

Houston -28 UAB surprised UCF by finding an offense, they won't be as fortunate here as Houston looks to bulid on their undefeated effort thus far, I don't see the Blazers being in this game for long, could be covering by halftime! Win.

3 Units.

NFL Week 9 Picks:

Falcons -7 Colts are bad, Falcons need a win. Win.

Buccaneers +9 Too many points here, Tampa just beat Brees and company 3 weeks ago, this is a FG win for the Saints. Loss.

Bengals +3 Cincy is a solid squad, not sure why the Titans are favored here. Dalton has played well and seems to enjoy AJ Green's company and the offense-less Titans will not be able to move the ball against the Bengals D. Win.

Bears +8 Too many points here again, Philly getting too much credit off their Dallas win ands the Bears always play the Eagles tough.Win.

Week 7 NCAA & NFL Week 6 Picks

Undefeated in my NFL picks last week, about time.............not so much with my college action. So here is my money offering this week. Short and sweet.............

LSU -17 Vols are at home but missing 2 of their few offensive pieces. Tigers will be all over them, I don't care how many Vols fans show up.Win.

4 Units.

Kansas State +4 Wrong team favored here. Tech isn't that good. Wildcats getting zero respect. I'll take the money. K State outright. Win.

4 Units.

Ok State -8 Everytime I play Ok State they lay an egg, just a hunch here. Texas got blown out last game against the Sooners, they just don't have the time to recover and plan for Wheeden and Co.Win.

2 Units.

Baylor +9 A&M missing too many players on offense and defense in this contest, especially going against RG3.Loss.

3 Units.

Michigan +2 Wolverines getting disrespected here, I think Northwestern is better than Sparty. Wolverines pull it out.Loss.

2 Units.

BONUS PICK:

Clemson -9 Terrapins are not living up to Edsel's expectations, Tigers keep rolling along. Win.

NFL Picks:

Panthers +4 Falcons just lost their Superbowl against the Pack. Statement game for Cam Newton, Panthers outright.Loss.

5 Units.

Bills +3 Vegas is telling me at +3 the Bills and Giants are even teams.........no. Giants are pure garbage. Bills outright.Push.

3 Units.

Patriots -7 Cowboys lose big, Dallas hates Romo even more, same story different week.Loss.

Enjoy! www.blogtalkradio.com/gametheory check the show out................right now would be a good time.

Week #5 NCAA Pick 'em, Week #4 NFL Pick 'em

Another rough weekend going 2-3 on Saturday (actually should have been 3-2, thanks to that bs extra point fiasco in my Toledo +2 pick). I got blown out on my Sunday picks, but I think I am dialed in now on my NFL action. Let's see what's on tap for this weekend as I climb back into the race in my Pick 'em league.

Penn State -15 Indiana is bad, Penn State can score points and always show up on defense. I like the Nittany Lions on the road here.Loss.

3 Units.

Louisiana Tech -3 Tough team at home, and they have been scoring some points this season. Hawaii has the long flight away from home and they aren't as good when they are away from that distinct and distracting environment.Loss.

5 Units.

Temple -8 Solid team, Al Golden left a good squad behind in Philly. The defense has been solid and the offense can score points in bunches, basically they are the polar opposite of USF. Toledo will be flat here coming home from some tough losses including the abortion last week where Vegas took their pound of flesh and my cash.Loss.

3 Units.

Washington +10 I think the Utes are way overvalued here coming off their big win versus BYU in the Holy War. Washington can score and Polk will have success on the ground. I think it is too many points here and I will take them. WIN!

2 Units.

Clemson +7 This game gave me some trouble, Clemson has been playing some great ball thus far, that being said they always like to shoot themselves in the foot away from home. VT is decent as expected, but I think the Tigers can keep it within 7. WIN!

2 Units.

NFL Picks

Bengals +3 Cincy defense is vastly overrated, The Bills could get caught in a flat spot here after their skull dragging of the Patriots. Benson is suspended which will actually probably help us here. Dalton has been pretty solid so far this year, vastly improved compared to preseason at least so the Bengals should be able to move the ball against a suspect Bills D, who could have trouble getting up for the bottom feeding Bengals.Win!

2 Units

Panthers +7 Cutler and the Bears offensive line worries me, while the Panthers are no aces on defense I think Cam Newton and Steve Smith will do enough to keep the Panthers in this game. Im not going to go as far to say the Panthers will win outright, but the Bears definitely have some problems right now, I think their faith in their QB is a bit shaken. Win!

5 Units.

Dolphins +7 I should have jumped on this game when its was +9, the Dolphins are desperate right now and the Chargers look like they are sleep walking. The Chargers are really hurting on the defensive side of the ball and it will show here. The Miami defense should do enough to keep them in this game.Loss

2 Units.

Falcons -5 I have been fading the Falcons all season thus far. This week I am going to jump on them. Don't be fooled by the Seahawks performance last week against the Cards. The Cardinals have no running game right now, so Seattle keyed in on Fitzgerald the Cards lone offensive threat. The Falcons have much more than one offensive threat and Mike Smith like to cover on the road. Falcons in a blowout. Loss.

4 Units.

Vikings -2 The Vikings are a dumpster fire, but the offense has been scoring points and the defense has been giving them up in the second half. Don' be fooled by the Chiefs close loss at San Diego last week, as I stated earlier the Chargers have massive holes on defense. Loss

3 Units.

There it is. I really need to get back on track as Vegas has been getting the better of me thus far which is the wrong answer.

Week #3 NCAA and Week #2 NFL Pick 'em

Not exactly a stellar week for me last weekend, no time to reflect on a mediocre performance though, we have money to make. I am really feeling the heat in my annual college football pick 'em challenge, so I really need to deliver here. Plus my loyal fan base deserves a solid showing!
Let's get to the picks!

NCAA

Boise St -20 On the road again for the Broncos facing a tough Toledo squad. The Broncos are a very good team to put it mildly. The Rockets stood tall with Ohio State last weekend but came up a little short in the end. It could be hard for Toledo to get up for this game on a short week and after taking one on the chin last week, for the Rockets that was their BCS title game so they could come out flat against Boise State which will put them in a deep hole. I think Ohio State is vastly overrated and even though I hate laying 20 points here the Broncos are just too good.Win!

2 Units.

UCLA +4 The Bruins are due, Nuehiesel needs to deliver a win against a big program and here is his chance at home. UCLA lost to Houston in what was basically a shoot out, Texas squeaked by Rice and BYU and I do not quite understand why they are ranked. The Longhorns will be starting Case McCoy, unfortunately for Vegas that won't get it done! UCLA outright.Loss.

2 Units.

Auburn +3 The Tigers burned me last week, so they owe me. Clemson has played two in state FCS schools so far this year and struggled to get their offense going early. I don't get this spread, perhaps Im missing something, but I doubt it. Auburn has enough offense and defense to get the win, even on the road.Loss.

3 Units.

Tennessee +10 Last week was a test of sorts for the Vols and they passed, beating the Bearcats pretty soundly. The Gators have played and beaten FAU and UAB, im not impressed. 10 points is alot and I expect the Vols QB play to keep this game within 7.Push.

3 Units.

Houston -7 The Bulldogs play solid D at home, Im just not sure if the La. Tech offense can keep pace with Case Keenum. Should be a close game early but the Cougars will pull away in the 2nd half.Loss.

3 Units.

NFL Picks

Bears +7 Bears looked good last week against the falcons, on the road against New Orleans will be a test for them but the Saints are alot like the Falcons, powerful on offense and sketchy on defense. The Bears will no doubt come to play as Urlacher will be back for the game and playing for his mother who passed away this week. Look for his teammates to step up to get that done, Bears keep it within 7.Loss.

2 Units.

Bills -3 After a short week and a cross country trip the Raiders won't be focused to play the "lowly" Bills here. Lets face it, Buffalo isn't an easy place to play regardless. Fitzpatrick shredded the Chiefs last week and I see that trend continuing here. Look for big games from Johnson and Jackson as well.Push.

2 Units.

Ravens -6 The Titans are garbage. Chris Johnson is not in game shape and Mike Munchak doesn't know how to use him. The Titans will have no success on the ground forcing Hassellback to throw and Ed Reed will enjoy that. Ravens easily.Loss.

3 Units.

Eagles -3 The Georgia Dome will be rocking for Vick's homecoming, once again the Falcons defense will fail to stop the Philly offense. I know Matt Ryan is great in the Dome but Philly will make enough plays to make a statement to the rest of the NFC, Falcons fall to 0-2.Loss.

2 Units.

Bucs +3 Tampa played decent against a good Lions team last week and the Vikings are having some serious problems at QB. Mcnabb was ineffective to say the least last week and the young Bucs will be hungry for a win, I like Tampa and the points here!Win!

2 Units.

Showtime in 45 minutes at www.blogtalkradio.com/gametheory check it out to get some more analysis on my picks! Good luck!

NCAA Week #2 Pick 'em

Short week, but it was still way too long. I had a tough time coming up with games this week thus the delay. Looking to improve on my 4-1 start last week, I Found 5 more money earners for this Saturday. I'm chasing the Chicago Kid after his 5-0 performance and have four others gunning for me in our yearly college football pick 'em contest. So without any more fanfare lets get to the money part.

Mississippi St. -6 Auburn got really lucky last week, squeaking by the Aggies and their freshman QB. Auburn struggles in home games during the daytime. Mullen's offense is way to much for the spotty Auburn D and the Bulldogs weakness from last year (pass defense) has had a year to hone their craft. Auburn will not have the success they had last week moving the ball on Saturday.Loss.

3 Units.

Hawaii +6 The Huskies squeaked by powerhouse Eastern Washington last week, I do not foresee that trend continuing here. Hawaii at home last week dusted off a decent Colorado squad. Moniz will have a big day against the Huskies defense who will spend alot of time on the field due to the fact Washington's offense will struggle to move the ball.Loss.

1 Unit

Stanford -21 I hate laying this kind of wood but............Duke lost to Richmond last week and now they have to get up for Andrew Luck? I'm not buying it! This game is going to get ugly quick, yes Stanford has a new coach, but he is cut from the same cloth as Harbaugh was. Stanford's running back by committee will be competing for carries so they will have success on the ground as well.

2 Units Win!

UCF -7 Biggest game of the year for the Knights. They seemed to have picked up where they left off last season after skull dragging Charleston Southern last week. BC on the other hand will be dragging themselves into Brighthouse field after a loss to the Dan Persa-less Northwestern last week, I doubt they will be stoked to play a C-USA squad who is clicking on all cylinders.Win!

2 Units

Ball St. +20 The Cardinals will come into Tampa with a chip on their shoulder after beating Indiana last week as a dog. USF coming off an emotional, marathon game last week could come out flat here. USF wins it but 20 will be too much in this spot. Loss.

1 Unit

There you have it, sorry for the late post but its money in the back nonetheless!

NFL 2011 Week #1 Picks

What we generally do............in this country, is I make a bet................and Vegas pays me for it! Had a decent week #1 in college action going 4-1 (thanks again Oregon) and picking up 9 units. Lets hope that translates in to more of Vegas hard earned $$ finding its way to my online superfund!

Packers -4 I looked at the opening weekend lines and I thought "what can I use you fah?" rhetorical question......money is the answer. Packers have all their weapons back and last time I looked in the dictionary the Saints got phonebooked by the Seattle Seahawks. The Saints haven't really made enough improvements to make me think they can stay within 4 points of the Superbowl champs at home. Win!

3 Units.

Steelers +3 Guy at work today asked me if I knew who John Lennon was, I responded of course with "yeah, he was the President before Lincoln." He said "you must be a gambler" I said you show me a point spread and I'll get you something out of it. Steelers on the road @ the Ravens. Same story as above, this game is always tight, so I take the team that's getting points. The principles of detection tell me that's the Steelers.Loss.

2 Units.

Bears +3 NFC title game team getting points at home against an over hyped Atlanta squad? Yes please. Cutler will have a chip on his shoulder in this one. Atlanta has too many holes on defense for me to buy them here and they will be more worried about the Bucs week #2 due to the division game and all. Bears outright.Win!

3 Units.

Rams +6 (and climbing) Are you a psychiatrist? Well, if I was I would ask why the Eagles are laying 6 on the road to Bradford & Company and I bet if I was Sigmund Freud himself I wouldn't get an answer. The public will pound Philly all year long due to the self imposed "Dream Team" moniker. Look out for St. Louis this year, they have some nice pieces and some progressing young talent.Loss.

2 Units.

Giants -3 Some people don't trust a handicapper with an immaculate record, I have an immaculate record. Go ahead Giants lose on September 11th to the Redskins, the press will chop you up and feed you to the poor. Redskins are home, but it won't help. This team is going to be bad. Loss.

2 Units.

Pats-7 You fellas from Providence? "Isn't any business of yours now is it?" You deliverin' money or somethin? Because if you are it will probably belong to me after the Pats continue their domination of the Fish on Monday night in South Beach.Win!

2 Units

Lions +1 I thought it was nice you asked me which hand I gamble with, as I remember Vegas isn't that sentimental. The Lions are looking pretty good. The edge I see hear is Detroit's D-line versus the Bucs O-line, win for Detroit. I'm a little concerned that Freeman won't have time to find his WR's. Stafford will be upright and can really throw the ball around, Megatron has a big day, so does my bank account. Win!

Enjoy! Short and to the point (that's what she said)

NCAA 2011 Week #1 Pick 'em

I'm back, freshly awoken from my usual hibernation. In time nonetheless to bring you some money, all but hand delivered. Wisconsin is currently up 20-0 against UNLV on the way to cover the 35 I laid on them. Thanks to Russell Wilson for the good start. Speaking of good starts I just returned home from a meeting with USF head coach Skip Holtz, got to meet several of the players alot of excitement in the air for the USF program, big game against Notre Dame on Saturday, so it's make or break for us already. Let us get to what we are all here for and that is my picks which bring profits!

South Florida +11 Sure. I will take your money Vegas, this line just keeps climbing...........and so does my bank account. USF knows what this game means, Coach Holtz seemed very excited about Saturdays contest. ND is getting all their usual preseason hype. How focused will they be on a South Florida squad in their house when they have the Wolverines waiting for them at The Big House next weekend? For a night game...........with Coach Hoke making his debut..........and the Wolverine alumni back in the fold. I don't envy you Brian Kelly. USF has great team speed, BJ Daniels has another year of experience under his belt and USF finally has some WR's for him to throw too. Look for alot of AJ Love and Stephen Bravo-Brown in this one..........I like the Bulls outright. Win!
4 Units.

Baylor +4 RG3 is back, and in the hunt for the Heisman, Baylor should not be taken lightly this year, TCU has lost alot especially with Andy Dalton and Andre Brown going to the NFL. TCU is breaking in some new pieces on both sides of the ball and I like Baylor and the points here.
2 Units. Win!

Utah St. +23 My how quickly we forget this is the same team who took the Sooners to the brink last year in week one. Last time I checked Cam Newton plays for the Panthers so there goes 85% of Auburn's usually inept offense. I think the Aggies will stay in this game, 23 is too big of a number for the Tigers to swallow while suffering from a National Championship hangover.
2 Units. Win!

Boise St. -3 I'm not doubting the Broncos anymore, they did lose two key WR's to the NFL but last time I looked in the dictionary they still had Kellen Moore. This team is too well coached, not afraid of the hostile environments and they rarely make mistakes. I get that Georgia is supposed to be improved, but I hear that every year. Andy Murray is a stud, but the Broncos need this game to beat away the BCS nay sayers. Boise by 6.
2 Units. Win!

Oregon -4 Ducks vs. Bayou Bengals................not in Death Valley mind you, but Jerry's house. LSU isn't as good when they do not have home field. The Jordan Jefferson fiasco will affect the Tigers here, not to mention they have to deal with the three headed monster of the Ducks running attack which will confuse their defense and I just don't think Jarret Lee and the Tigers can get it done here. Loss
1 Unit.

There you have it my friends, enjoy your Labor Day weekend and your profits, until next week.

NFL Week #13 Pick 'em

Great weekend last Sunday, I went 6-2 ATS on my NFL action for +10 units. We are going a little light on units this Sunday, noting really jumped out at me for a multi unit play. I am sitting at 34-26-2 and have been on fire the last few weeks, so lets keep that trend in lockstep.

Dolphins -4 Henne looked sharp last week on the left coast, The Fins are at home this week and Jake Delhomme is the QB for the Browns and he is as useless as a football bat or a pair of swim cleats, write that down!
1 unit. Loss.

Saints -7 Brees and company seemed to have figured it out and the Bengals are a garage sale inside of a double wide that is currently on fire. Bengals are at home, but for some reason they are getting too much credit in this game. Saints easy.
3 units. Loss.

Rams -3 The Cards cannot run or throw the ball and that trend will continue as they stumble through their Kurt Warner-less season. I have been pounding the Rams all season. Bradford is a stud and doesn't throw picks, he uses his young WR's well and the defense is good enough to keep the Cardinals at bay, even on the road.
2 units.Win.

Steelers -3 A rare appearance by Rapistberger in Baltimore, this is a must have game for the Steelers. If they get swept by the Ravens they might not get into the playoffs even as a Wildcard. These games are usually very close but the Ravens offense has been sluggish as of late.Win.

Pats -3 New England is playing much better ball lately the Jets have been winning but have really been squeaking by with the exception of the beat down of Cincy last week. Brady is on fire and the Pats D is making moves, Pays cover at home.
2 units.Win.

There you have it another highly profitable Sunday of football.

Thursday, November 25, 2010

NFL Week #12 Pick 'em

13 units of profit handed out last Sunday alone. Went 5-2 ATS which brings us to a record of 28-24-2. I have a huge slate of action for tonight and Sunday as those of you who listened to last nights show are well aware of. Let's get to the action, I will start off with the Thanksgiving Day games we have on tap for today.

Patriots -7 Pats seeking the best record in the NFL here, the Lions have been dreadful on Turkey Day over the last few years. While they have improved they just won't have the weapons to stay in this game the whole way. The Pats have supplemented their erratic defense by creating turnovers, look for that trend to continue, the Pats take it by 10.
4 units. Win.

Jets -9 I think this is the first time I have taken the Jets this year. They have had some close games the last three weeks against teams who are improving. The Bengals however are not improving, coming in a 2-8 they are little more than just showing up to the game. Palmer is hurt but will play we will see how the foot injury impacts his passing game. T.O. has been running his mouth about Revis so that might give the Jets a little motivation to make an example of Cincy.
2 units. Win.

Buccaneers +8 The surprise Bucs head to Baltimore to play the Ravens. I like the Bucs to cover the 8 here as Freeman has played well and Baltimore has had trouble with big point spreads this season. The Ravens might not of covered last week were it not for two late interceptions of St. Pierre for Ravens touchdowns. The Ravens get it done but t will be closer than you think.
1 unit. Win.

Rams +4 I have been on the Rams all year with the exception of last week. They are a solid squad and Bradford should fare well against the Broncos D. I know the Rams aren't quite road warriors but Denver shouldn't really be laying more than 2 here. The Broncos are still getting credit for their blowout win over KC, how long is Vegas gonna ride that scooter?
2 units.

Eagles -3 The Eagles need to play a good game here as they looked like garbage last week and were fortunate enough to win over the Giants. I think the Bears are a solid squad, but much like my Falcons they lack any kind of consistency on the offensive side of the ball and laying points with Jay Cutler scares me as he was less than impressive against the Dolphins last week, that's saying alot with Miami's meager secondary play. The Bears defense is nasty as usual and generates points for them, the way to stop that is to not turn the ball over. Vick and company need a solid outing here to stand out in the NFC.
2 units. Loss.

Packers +2 Aaron Rodgers getting points? Sign me up for 5 units please. As discussed earlier the Falcons are hit and miss and the Packers are getting healthy. Ryan is hard to beat at home yes, but Atlanta has had some ugly home wins this season. I don't like them in this spot and Vegas thinks the Packers are better or the spread would have been +3.
5 units. Loss.

Jaguars +8 I haven't been a fan of the Jags, but they seem to be more and more stable as the weeks go by. Garrard has been playing well and MJD has been finding the endzone as of late. The Giants on the other hand have a beat up O-line and have struggled mightily in the red zone as evident by last weeks game with Philly. Eli has some problems at WR with his two work horses out in Nicks and Smith. Its just too many points for the Giants to cover.
3 units. Win.

Chargers +3 I love this game, San Diego is getting into mid season form and rolling over opponents, Rivers is in a dog fight with Rodgers for the MVP and Vincent Jackson will be back. Who knows how productive he will be but he still has to be accounted for. Also Malcolm Floyd has returned to the line up. Mike Tolbert from........................? Coastal Carolina has been picking up the slack in the running game well. Manning just doesn't have the weapons right now and his numbers reflect that, the Colts still lack a running game and also struggle to stop the run. I like the Chargers outright.
4 units.

NCAA Week #13 Pick 'em

Less than impressive on Saturday going 2-3, bringing us to 29-25 on the season that's the wrong answer. So lets get a 5-0 Saturday going here. Lets see what I have. The Vegas Takedown Show will be tomorrow night at 9:00 PM as the Game Theory offices will be locked down for Thanksgiving Day celebration. We will have our own Black weekend thanks to the money we will make off my picks for Saturday and Sunday.

Texas A&M -3 Simply put its put up or shut up time for the Aggies, coming off an impressive defensive performance against the Huskers at home its time for rival Texas. A&M needs this game for many reasons. I like them to cover the 3 on the road. Win.

Ohio -3 I don't like betting on MAC teams but the Bobcats aren't half bad and are playing for a MAC championship. The Bobcats are averaging 33 PPG and Kent State has been less than impressive, lets go with the hot team. Loss.

Boise State -14 Nevada is garbage and I hate them. The Broncos will take them apart with ease. I'm not buying into the ESPN hype on this game, it will be a blowout fest by halftime. Loss.

TCU -44 Not quite sure how New Mexico will score in this contest. Last chance for TCU to stay ahead of Boise, and being they are playing the 1-10 Lobos the Frogs need to crush their souls or the Broncos might Leap frog them, pun intended. Write that down. Win.

Auburn +5 The Tigers offense can score points and Auburn loves to cover. This win would solidify Cam Newtons Heisman and Bama's defense has been un-TIDE-y, pause for affect. I think the Tigers offense is good enough to stay within 5. Win.

There you have it, I have 8 NFL games on the money making slate this weekend as well. Look for them to be posted tomorrow night or tune into my radio show at 9:00PM to get them live only at www.blogtalkradio.com/gametheory see you when I see you.

NFL Week #11

Lagging behind with my picks, but I have a big slate of action for Sunday so lets get to the money making shall we?

Eagles -3 The G'men come limping into the Linc for a road tilt. Simply put the Giants are too beat up on the O-line and the Eagles and Vick are on fire.
5 units. Win.

Ravens -11 Brian St. Pierre from? Exactly who is this guy. I don't like laying this many points but I don't know how the Panthers will score, this team is bad. Ravens need a win to keep a leg up on Pittsburgh.
4 units. Win.

Packers -3 This was a close game in Lambeau, not so much this time. The Packers are getting healthy and coming off a bye. The Vikings are done and will put on a show early but will fold up shop in the second half.
4 units. Win.

Bills +6 Bills are fresh off a win and the Bengals have stopped playing football. I like the Bills to keep this one within a FG.
2 units. Win.

Browns +2 This is the first team that Colt Mccoy has faced that wasn't in the playoffs last season. I like Mccoy to get it done against the Jags using Hillis and defense for the outright win.
3 units. Loss.

Seahawks +12 The Seahawks are iffy on the road, but Brees has had turnover issues this year. The Saints get Reggie Bush back this week but this is just too many points Seahawks keep it within 12.
2 units. Loss.

Falcons -3 I rarely bet on my team, but if Atlanta wants to prove that they are an upper crust squad they need to put away the upstart Rams on the road. Ryan isn't the best on the the road but he is good in a dome, I like the Falcons to cover.
2 units. Win.

There you have it, 6 money makers to cash out on enjoy. I should have my picks up on Thursday next week, been really busy this week, so bare with me money fans.

NFL Week #10 Pick 'em

Running a little behind with the NFL picks this week but if you listened to the show on Thursday night you will already know my NFL picks and have received my breakdowns on all the games. I went 4-0-1 last Sunday so that brings me to 20-19-2 on the NFL season so we are back over .500 which means I am making you money. Lets get to the picks I like some games alot this week and here they are.

Bengals +7 Palmer and T.O. have a good thing going. Jordan Shipley and Grisham are showing up to the party as well. Benson should have a solid outing as Indy is weak against the run. Colts win, but this is a great match up for Cincy and our bank accounts.
4 units. Win.

Rams +6 I have been on the Rams all season and they have delivered for me. The 49ers shouldn't be favored against anyone, not even the Bills. Coming off a bye Jackson and Bradford will have a nice game. The Rams young but talented D will guarantee a bad day for Troy Smith. Rams outright.
2 units. Win.

Giants -14 Big Blue has turned the corner, the Cowboys are awful and their new coach Jason Garrett hasn't endeared himself to his new troops by making them practice in full pads all week. Giants win in a blowout.
4 units. Loss.

Titans -1 Randy Moss will make his presence felt and stretch the field for Chris Johnson and VY, the Dolphins secondary isn't having a good year and I don't see Chad Pennington leading this team to a win over an underrated Titans squad.
2 units. Loss.

Texans +1 I'm not buying the Jags, even at home. Schaub needs to have a good game against a very pedestrian Jags secondary. Conference game here and the Texans need to show some signs of life. Foster needs to be a factor for Houston to get the win.
1 unit. Loss.

Patriots +5 The Hoodie doesn't lose back to back games and the Steelers D is showing some cracks as of late, I like the points here and the fact that Tom Brady and Belichek don't lose back to back games.
3 units. Win.

There you go money fans, 6 winners for you cash addiction fix. See you next week.

NCAA Week #11 Pick 'em

Another 4-1 Saturday last week, that brings us to 25-19-3 on the season. That's pure profit at more than 6 units. I like money and if you are reading this than you do too. I'm going to be drawing down on the game write ups for the blog as traffic is down and ratings on my radio show are up 20% from last week so I will be focusing more of my energy and what little time I have on the show. Be sure and tune in tomorrow night at 9PM and listen in as me give you are picks for this weekend. I will also give more in depth analysis of my picks on the air, catch it at www.blogtalkradio.com/gametheory now to the picks.

Boise State -35 The Broncos are up against it and facing in state rival Idaho Friday night. Idaho got parade rested by Hawaii recently and the Broncos midget tossed the Warriors last week. The Vandals are a sive on defense and their offense has taken multiple 30" steps backwards. Boise State needs a blowout victory to hedge against falling further out of favor with the all powerful BCS computer. Broncos huge.
2 units.Win.

USC +4 The Trojans have been playing some good football as of late. Matt Barkley has been lighting it up and the D has stepped up as well, Zona has a solid record but hates to cover. Simply put I like the Trojans to keep it within 3.
1 unit. Win.

Oregon -20 Cal is dumpster fire, granted they are slightly better at home but that being said the Ducks have Auburn and TCU breathing down their necks and will have to put on a good show against a crap team. The Ducks will be away from Autzen but they have played well in hostile stadiums this year, for example a couple of weeks ago at USC. Ducks by 24.
2 units. Loss.

Utah -6 The Utes will be looking to bounce back against the hapless Irish. I think we are getting some value here of about 3 points. Taking into consideration that TCU skulldrug Utah last week and Notre Dame is always overvalued due to the public loving them and the fact that they are media darlings. The Utes get back on track here.
1 unit. Loss.

Stanford -5 Andrew Luck and the Whalen brothers come into town to play the Sun Devils. Arizona State has been up and down this year while the Cardinal continues to roll along in their season suffering only 1 loss to the mighty Ducks. Luck and Stanford's physical play will wear the Sun Devils down and we will cover. Loss.

There you have it, NFL picks will be up tomorrow as I have a few multiple unit plays, until that time.

Week #9 NFL Pick 'em

Couple nice games we can jump on this Sunday, I had a dismal 3-2 performance last Sunday. It didn't make me very happy. I need perfection or close to this weekend. Tune into the show tonight at 9:00 PM EST, The Vegas Takedown Show can only be heard at www.blogtalkradio.com/gametheory Lets see whats on the money train before we rob it shall we?

Colts +3 Peyton Manning as a dog I like it, sign me up. Vick, Jackson and Mccoy will be a little rusty due to injuries and the Eagles defense can't stop the unrelenting barrage of Colts weaponry. I like the Colts to win outright.
4 units.

Bills +3 Our neighbors to the north get to take in our finest export as the Bears and Bills will play in Toronto. The Bills will get their first win of the season they have been playing everyone tough since Fitzpatrick has taken over the offense. Martz will not use his running backs and will no doubt leave Cutler in a bad spot against an improved Bills pass rush. Buffalo's secondary has been playing better as of late too. The Bears offensive line can't pass protect and Cutler will be getting hit alot.
2 units. Push.

Browns +6 The Pats own the best record in the league and I think this will be a look ahead game for them as the Browns come to Foxboro. The Browns have been playing hard behind Colt Mccoy and Peyton Hillis had a week off the get some rest and heal up. The Browns will stay in this game, Pats win by 2.
2 units. Win.

Cardinals +9 The Vikings season is all but done, they have waaaaay too many issues to get up for a crap Cards squad led by Derek Anderson. 9 points is too much in this spot. Vikings should squeak this game out but not by 9.
3 units. Win.

Chargers -3 I am taking the Bolts as a road favorite. Phillip Rivers is my pick for NFL MVP write that down. The Texans are garbage and will not be able to stop Rivers he should easily put up 400 yards passing in this contest. Rivers will be getting some of his weapons back and the Chargers running game is starting to get on track. Chargers by 5.
2 units. Win.

There you have it folks, tune in tonight for some more in depth analysis on my picks. See you then.

NCAA Week 10 Pick 'em

I had a 4-1 weekend that puts us at 21-18-3. I wanted 5-0 but Utah decided to not kick a 30 yard field goal to go up 8 with 3 minutes left after giving up 18 points in the 4th quarter. Awesome. I am looking for another strong week to try and pad my stats. Don't forget to tune into The Vegas Takedown Show this Friday night only at www.blogtalkradio.com/gametheory unless you don't like money. Why pay for losing picks when you can get free winners here.

UCF -2 The Go;den Knights travel to Houston to play the Cougars without Case Keenum. UCF has been crushing conference opponents and have a solid defense and offense. I was pleased with their road performance a few weeks ago against a solid K State team in Manhattan. It was a losing effort, but the defense played extremely well in a hostile Big 12 environment. If the Knights can shut down Thomas and Coffman they can tune the Cougs out too.
2 units. Win.

N.C. State +4 The Wolfpack need this game as a follow up to their big win against FSU, another conference came on the road against Clemson. Clemson was just beat down by BC and their stagnant offense, I like the 4 points and the Wolfpack to pull out the win.
2 units. Win.

Oregon -35 The Ducks are back in the friendly confines of Autzen this Saturday as they take on the Huskies. Jake Locker is beat up and having a poor season and this Husky team is headed the wrong way. The Ducks need to keep making the case that they are the number 1 team in the land and will need to blow the doors off of a bad Huskies team in order to impress the almighty Oracle that is a computer. Don't let me down Ducks. Oregon's offense is just too potent and the Huskies can't find the end zone. The Ducks could be covering by halftime.
2 units. Win.

Oklahoma -3 I don't quite get this spread, the Aggies defense has been unimpressive and the offense is too streaky. Oklahoma can't afford another loss so they should be bringing their A game. Unless I am missing something the Sooners look like the right side. The Sooners do tend to struggle ATS wise on the road as of late, but I think we are getting some value here as a result, their fans travel well and should have a good turnout at Kyle Field.
1 unit. Loss.

Temple -3 On the road at Kent State, Al Golden's team hasn't given up a single point in two games. The Penn State heir apparent really has his kids dialed in and hopefully they will dial up Vegas and tell them to release payment to myself after the game, the Owls get it done on the road.
2 units. Win.

There you have it money lovers enjoy!

Week #8 NFL Pick 'em

Pretty solid Sunday last week as I went 4-1, those bums from San Fran cost me a perfect day. So I am sitting at 16-19-1, time for me to move back into the black. Slim pickings this Sunday, not much at all that interested me, everything will be a one unit play this weekend. Here is what I have:

Bills +8 Ryan Fitzpatrick is the second rated passer in the NFL that's what kind of season it has been this far. They have put up some serious points against some good teams with the Harvard alum behind center. The Chiefs can score too, their running game has been successful and Cassel has been throwing the ball well. The Chiefs secondary is young and susceptible to the pass so this game could be a shoot out but I think Buffalo and the points is the right side.
Win.

Vikings +6 The Vikings will lose this game but they are good enough to cover the 6. Moss has been supplying all the info on the Pats defense to Childress, will it help? Maybe. The Pats just aren't the potent offense they used to be and their defense is young but getting better. The Vikings defense will keep them in this game, lets just hop Favre doesn't throw it away. Loss.

Packers +6 The Pack is really beat up and weak against the run but they do have WR's and a QB who can score at any moment. The Jets will win this game but the Pack has the talent to stay with them. Win.

Texans +6 The Texans are built to beat the Colts as they did at home in week #1, they like Jacksonville always play the Colts tough and the Colts have some missing pieces on defense and their running back core is really beat up. Colts will squeak this game out with a late FG and we will cover. Loss.

Rams -3 The Rams are solid at home and the Panthers are not very good, the Moore to Gettis connection doesn't scare me. The Rams have covered alot for me this year and I don't see them stumbling here as a they are looking to get back to .500 on the year. Bradford will take out his displeasure of wearing a Mizzou jersey on the Panthers, hello money! Win.

There you have it enjoy!

NCAA Pick 'em Week 9

After a ho-hum 3-2 Saturday I have crawled back to .500 and I am sitting at 17-17-3. I had a real good weekend off the books with some late picks. So lets keep the trend heading toward the black shall we? Alright freakshows lets get to the pickage. Don't forget to tune into the show tomorrow night at 10PM only at www.blogtalkradio.com/gametheory

Utah -7 The Utes just keep on rolling. Utah hates not covering, conversely the Falcons hate to cover. Simply math right? I like Utah here even though they are on the road I like them to win by 14. They will use this game to tool up for TCU. I like money.
3 units. Loss.

Oregon -7 Make or break game for the Ducks who keep getting leap frogged in the BCS standings. The Ducks struggle away from Autzen, and the Trojans have been playing some decent football at home. The one thing that scares me is Kiffin's defense, he is pretty solid at stopping the spread offense. The Ducks need to make a statement here and now. It could be a shootout but lets hope for a blowout.
1 unit. Win.

Hawaii -14 Ahhhh Hawaii the place where land locked teams go to die. The Warriors have been quiet cover machines this year. They are very tough at home. The Vandals have taken a step back from last year when they were making us money. I like Hawaii big in this contest.
2 units. Win.

UCF -7 The Knights also love to cover and are a great home team and have picture framed and milk cartoned alot of opponents this season. ECU can score points, but UCF can play some serious D at home in Brighthouse Networks Stadium. ECU doesn't not have much defense and the UCF offense has been pretty potent this year. I like the Golden Knights here.
2 units. Win.

Auburn -7 The Tigers will be looking to maintain their #1 BCS ranking in this road tilt. No one has an answer for Cam Newton. The Tigers were able to get some points on the board against a solid defense last week. I don't see the Rebel Black Bears stopping Cam Newton and I'm not to afraid of Massoli's offensive "prowess".
1 unit. Win.

There you have it money lovers. Another 3-2 Saturday won't cut it, we need a 5-0 day!!
