NCAA Week #5 Pick'em

11-9 mark for my college ATS games so far this season, not impressive. I'm sure the college games have been keeping Vegas in the game after the beat down their accounts have taken during the last three weeks. Lets cut straight to the chase for this weeks action.

VT -17 Alot of wood to lay on the road, but VT is on a mission. So how can Duke, a team that lost to FCS Richmond by 8 stay in this game. VT is still out to prove something after the let down versus Alabama. Ask yourself if you think Duke can score more than 10 points here, than ask yourself if VT can score 28. I'm pretty sure they can. Loss.

Alabama -16 Alabama is also on a mission, Kentucky will be flat here coming off the beating they took against the Gators. Alabama destroyed a good Arkansas team who employs the best QB in the SEC, that being Ryan Mallet. I think that Bama's defense is better than Florida's and this game will prove it, Tide Rolls, pun intended. Win.

Vanderbilt +9 Ole Miss is laying 9 points, they also just watched their naty title hopes circle the drain in a loss to the Gamecocks. Vandy will be pumped up for a home night game. This is a tough spot here for Snead and the Rebels. Vandy is 7-1 in their last 8 ATS against the Rebels. I like Vandy here in a covered loss. Loss.

Houston -15 Still not sold on Houston and in fact I don't like them or their coach. Plus they cost me money last week. UTEP is a prom night dumpster baby and can't get out of their own way. They lost to Buffalo by 7 and had their brains beat in by Texas last week. Houston rolls, if they can find their missing helmets that is. Loss.

That's it folks, I didn't care for alot of the games this week so it's gonna be a light Saturday for The Blanket. Enjoy the money.

NFL Week #4 Pick em

Here we go heading into week #4 of the 2009 NFL season. I'm sure the bodies are piling up in the Vegas desert right now, Vegas was bent over in weeks 1 & 2; but that was nothing compared to the beating they took last week. Right now Vegas is bleeding cash from all of its sports books. This begs the question when will it stop? Apparently it is supposed to stop this Sunday, let's keep our eyes out for fixed games. That being said I am cutting back my action to compensate for Vegas clamping down on us. I am posting two games now and I am also looking at a few late games and the Monday night game, so with that we are going to start off with two stalwarts.

Ravens +2 Ok Vegas, continue to discount the Ravens and I will continue to take your money. I think the wrong team is favored here. The Jets defense really got to Brady in the Pats loss, Baltimore runs the same defense only theirs is better. Brady is having some issues with his WR's in both Galloway and Aiken and he is just not himself. Fred Taylor looked great running the ball against the no heart,we hate winning Falcons, as he grinded out a 105 yards. Won't happen today. The Ravens offense is STILL underrated. Flacco has an excellent offensive line and Mcgahee and Rice have been running well as will do so this week since Mayo is out and Seymour is gone. The Pats will not be able to run the ball here so that leaves Brady throwing to receivers he doesn't trust yet. Good luck with that. Raven win outright.Loss.

Giants -9 The Chiefs are awful. They lost to the Raiders when Russell went 9 for 728 on passing attempts. The Chiefs O-line cannot run block or pass protect so Johnson will go no where and Cassell will get sacked several times. Likewise KC's 3 man front will not be able to get to Eli or stop Jacobs and Bradshaw. This is the Giants 3rd road game in a row but they are 28-6on the road ATS since 2006, who are we to buck that trend. Win.

Dolphins +3 At first I didn't like this game, but after kicking it around for a while I think the Dolphins are underrated in this spot. There should not be much of a drop off between Henne and Pennington. The Dolphins have a proud veteran defense that is going to give everything they have to compensate for Pennington being out. That being said the Dolphins will continue to run the ball and use the Wildcat. Hopefully Ted Ginn learns how to catch a big boy throw, I guess those Buckeyes don't realize how hard Wolverines can throw. The Bills got shutout by the Saints last week (told you the Saints had a better defense, the Bills scored the TD on special teams) The Bills have some problems with depth in their secondary and the Bills O-line allowed 4 sacks of Edwards on Sunday, so expect the Dolphins to get pressure and limit TO's touches. Also Marshawn Lynch comes back and Jauron will most likely use him as the feature back even though the Bills best offensive player has been Fred Jackson, who can also catch out of the backfield. Look for Henne to stretch the D with his big arm, this will cause Buffalo to respect the deep ball and open up an already solid running game for Miami. Win.

Broncos +3 The Cowboys laying points on the road???? Bwhahahahahahahahahah!! Really?? Why because you beat the Bucs and Panthers who are 0-6? Not so fast my friends! This is a statement game for the Broncos, the Cowboys meanwhile are down to one RB in Tashard Choice and coming off and emotional win at home to get Jerry Jones off their back, I see the Cowboys coming out flat here. The Broncos are undefeated and their defense has played well as they held a surprising Bengals team in check in week one. Denver has been running the ball effectively with Moreno and Buckhalter and Dallas has not been great at stopping the run this season. This should put Kyle Orton in 3rd and short, which is a throw he can make. Orton will have the time to throw as Denver's O-line is solid!Win.

Vikings -3 The Hefty Bag will be rocking as Minnie's new savior goes against his old team. I assume Favre will be at his best here, which concerns me because he could start pressing and throwing pics. The deciding factor in this game for me is the Packers O-line, they aren't very good and gave up 5 sacks to the Bengals and the Rams applied pressure on Rodgers last week. I don't think the vikings D-line will have trouble getting to Rodgers here. Ryan Grant will not be able to find any running lanes against the Williams wall. Also Green Bay has been giving up nearly 5 yards a carry to Benson and Jackson, expect AP to have a huge day along with Taylor catching passes out of the back field, having a dominate running game will allow Favre to move the chains with short passes. Win.

Chargers +7 Not sure why the Steelers are laying 7 points here. Both teams have multiple injuries at key positions. I don't see Parker doing much in the running game as he hasn't been good this year and is dealing with turf toe, the other alternative Medenhall is a human fumbling machine. Rivers and the Chargers smell blood in the water here and this is a huge revenge game for San Diego as the Steelers swept the Chargers last year. Sproles will be key in this game, Rivers will be throwing deep to Gates and Jackson with the absence of Polamalu. Chargers are in a big spot here and would love nothing more than to send the Steelers to 1-3. Loss.

There we go 6 games for our accounts to get fat on. I am still kicking around the Saints/ Jets game, I like the Saints here, and I am also liking the Rams in a covered loss to the 49ers who will be flat after their last contest.

Football Weekend Recap

Great day today!! Yesterday wasn't too bad, a couple games bit me but I was able to bring my account up to the point where my Sunday NFL bets were covered. I still have a 4 Team Teaser alive with the Colts +15.5, with a payout of 4 units. I also have a 6 team ML parlay still alive needing a Cowboys win tomorrow night and an 8 game double trouble mix-in parlay also only needing a Cowboys win. The payouts for those parlays are 5 units and 33 units respectively. I was quite upset to see the AP Top 25 rankings and not see my USF Bulls in it, not saying they should be in the top 10 or anything, but they did beat FSU in Tally with a back up QB and have now defeated all 5 of the last 5 ranked teams they have played. I hope the team takes this to heart and tunes up Syracuse this weekend in preparation for a Thursday night showdown with the #10 Bearcats. I was surprised to see Bobby Bowden as congratulatory in defeat considering in 2007 when the Bulls were ranked #2 he said "We'll see how long they stay there" who's laughing now Bobby?? In other news I will be posting my picks from now on right before kick off as my "friend" Billy Vegas says I edit my picks and "no one reads my picks" which I find to be a slap in the face considering I bailed him out with 3 NCAA Bball winners when he was jammed up in Vegas, how soon we forget. So for this gambling season I am 15-1 in NFL ATS picks and 11-9 in NCAA ATS picks. I have been honing my craft with NFL for 3 years now and it is really starting to pay dividends (and credit card bills). See you again for more money making next week!

NCAA Pick' em week #4

Alright Vegas, you are starting to upset me with the college action. I have been noting some questionable calls by the refs. This would go alot smoother if you would just give me your money. Well my friends I failed to live up to the hype last Saturday going 2-3 on my picks. So now I am sitting at 8-7. I tried focusing on some less "marquee" match ups last week and it didn't pan out. Here is what I have for this week, I am still waiting on Billy Vegas's action so look for that as well.

South Carolina +5 Home dog theory here tonight. Me and Billy Vegas disagree with this game. I took the Gamecocks because they are home and are hungry for a conference win. they played Georgia tough and beat a decent N.C. State team. Ole Miss looked sloppy in its two wins so far. Vegas is looking to take back some money on this game as the public is pounding Ole Miss in this game, no thanks I like money! Win.

Rutgers -2 Dom Natale has some making up to do, and what better place to do it then at Maryland. Tom Savage is probable after a concussion. Rutgers got blown out by Cincy and last week beat a scrappy FIU team. Rutgers is 4-1 ATS in their last 5 on the road. Maryland hates winning and have only managed to beat a 200 year old dead man. I like Rutgers on the road in this contest. This team is hungry for a win, and I think the Terps have quit on Ralph Refrigerator.Win.

Mizzou -7 Nevada sucks, write that down. They have cost Billy Vegas and I money twice so far this gambling season. I don't care if its their home opener or if they are out for revenge or what ever. Mizzou got a little sloppy against Bowling Green they will be focused here. This game goes against my home dog theory but I'm tired of losing money on Nevada. Win.

Pitt +1 The Big East continues to get no respect, I like Pitt in this contest Pitt is 5-1 SU in its last 6 games, 7-2 SU in its last 9 road games and 8-3 ATS in its last 11 on the road. NC State is having alot of injury problems, including start LB Nate Irving who is out for the season. After a loss to SC, NC State has beaten two cupcakes, Pitt is coming off a win against a solid Navy team. I like Pitt as the pup here.Loss.

Cal -6 Oregon has had the Bears number as of late I think Cal can turn it around here. Hopefully Jeff Tedford keeps Best in the game for all four quarters and gives him plenty of touches. Oregon looked sloppy in their victory against Utah. Massoli's numbers were unimpressive to say the least. Cal should be motivated for this game knowing that USC went down and they are now in the drivers seat for the Pac-10 Championship. Lets hope that translates to money in our pockets!Loss.

Another disappointing weekend going 3-2.

NFL Pick'em Week #3

Hello money fans, we are venturing into dangerous waters this weekend. Vegas took it up the rear for a second week. The public hit the number on the Ravens, Saints, Raiders, Colts to name a few. Vegas managed only a Bears and Jets cover to re-coup some cash. So we are gonna be careful this weekend. As my readers know I take each loss ATS personally, I don't like losing one game and I pick my games accordingly. This week I have another full slate of action as I look to siphon off some more Vegas cash!! With that said here are my picks for week #3.

49ers +7 I know, I know "but the Vikings are the best team ever" maybe they are, but they have faced two less than stellar defenses in the Browns and the Lions. Here come the 49ers. I feel getting 7 points here is a great value. Favre has been getting carried by AP so far. Against the 49ers 7th ranked rush defense he will be forced to throw, has anyone seen Favre throw a deep ball this year? Me either. I am a believer in the 49ers now and they are still undervalued. Action on this game is equal going 50/50 on the ESPN darling that is the Vikings. I like the 49ers in this spot. Win.

Giants -7 I was telling Billy Vegas over at Banter Theory this spread makes me nervous because the Bucs are in bad shape defensively. Jermaine Phillips is out for a while as well and the Bucs are near the bottom in every defensive category and are currently signing members of the Bengals practice squad to add to their secondary. The Giants on the other hand are road warriors and Jacobs and Bradshaw will have no problems running the ball. Eli should have a big day being that the Bucs are thin on CB's and safeties. Leftwich will have to rely on his running game to move the sticks. The Giants gave up some good yardage to Jones and Barber on Sunday night, but at some point Leftwich will have to throw to his "WR's" we'll see how that works out for him. Win.

Saints -6 I will continue to ride the Saints until proven otherwise. I don't know if Trent Edwards and the Bills can match the Saints powerful offense. I don't see the Bills doing much on the ground in this game as the Saints are only allowing 2.9 YPC, this will force Edwards into throwing situations against the Saints improved secondary. Drew Brees has a TON of weapons to throw to, even though New Orleans RB's are dinged up I don't see scoring to be a problem for the Saints. Both teams will be up for this game, no let downs here. Saints are looking to stay atop the NFC South while the Bills are trying to make up ground on the Jets.Win.

Bears -2 Big game for the Bears here. They cannot go into Qwest field flat because the Seahawks won't have Hasselback. Wallace can move the chains with short passes, but he will need to rely on Julius Jones to do so. Sorry I don't see Jones running on the Bears. The Seahawks are ranked 3rd versus the pass, but they have yet to face a Jay Cutler caliber QB. Cutler will slice and dice the Seahawks secondary. Hopefully Forte gets going and the Bears use him to set up play action and screen passes. I like Chicago here in a close game, but I think Cutler is worth the -2.Win.

Chargers -6 Big game here for the Bolts. Phillip Rios has been on fire so far this year. Miami has to come all the way to the west coast after they put everything they had into the Monday night game only to lose in the last two minutes. Not to mention the Chargers will be looking for some revenge after the Dolphins beat them last year. Miami has a tough schedule and it doesn't get any easier. The Colts suck against the run so I don't think the Wildcat will have the same success against San Diego. I like the Bolts with a nice cover here.Win.

Ravens -13.5 The Ravens are this years version of last years Titans (covering wise). Baltimore won a tough road game against a quality opponent last week. Now they come home to face the lowly Browns who hate scoring touchdowns. As long as the Browns keep starting Brady " I can't throw the ball further than 10 yards" Quinn they will continue to get milk cartoned week in and week out. This spread (13.5) makes the average gambler want to take the points, but lets face facts, the Browns couldn't score a TD against the Broncos and somehow I am supposed to believe they will score on against the Ravens? Not so fast my friends. Flacco, much like Ryan is showing no signs of the sophomore slump, his deep balls are thrown accurately with little effort. Ray Rice is running the ball like he is still torching my USF Bulls defense every week. Ravens get it done here. Win.

There we have it people, 6 games for your gambling pleasure. I may add the Eagles game depending on the spread which I am projecting at -11, but we will see. I haven't quite figured out this paradox of why Vegas has been getting used and abused so far this season, but the public is backing the Ravens 88%, the Bears 97%, Saints 98%, and the Giants 98%. Lets hope the public is more informed because they have been reading my blog, or better yet maybe Vegas just hates money and wants to give it away!

NFL & NCAA Weekend Recap

Mixed feelings over this weekend. I finished with 9 units of profit. I struggled with my college picks going 2-3 bringing my record to an unimpressive 8-7. I was unable to communicate with Billy Vegas on his college picks due to the fact I was out of town and my Crapberry hates getting a signal. On a positive front I went 5-1 ATS on my NFL action. Bringing my published picks record up to a respectable 9-1. I also hit 2 more NFL games ATS with the Bengals and Bears both covering and winning outright, great success! I am determined to bring up my college football picks record up starting this weekend. Finally I would like to end on a sad note USF Bulls QB Matt Grothe sustained a torn ACL during Saturdays game, this was very depressing for me as I hoped for USF to win a Big East Championship and go to a BCS Bowl for Matt's senior season. BJ Daniels will lead our Bulls into Tallahassee on Saturday for a game against a team I despise the FSU Seminoles, lets win this one for Grothe!

NFL Pick 'em Week #2

Not many games that I like this week. Vegas is going to try and recapture some of its money that escaped on last Sunday. Hopefully none of it will be my money.........or yours if you are reading this site. Here is what I have so far:

Seahawks +2 I know that the 49ers are the trendy pick here, but I have to stick to my guns on this one. I know that the 49ers beat the Cards on the road but the Cardinals looked rusty. While the Seahawks dusted off less than stellar Rams team. I just do not think Shaun Hill is ready to be laying points to a healthy Seahawks squad. Both teams have a less than stellar secondaries and the 49ers might be a little over confident after beating last years NFC champion. The 49ers bottled up the Cards run game last week but their run game is less than impressive. If Jones can establish a run game Hassleback should be able have the play action opportunity. If the Seahawks can bottle up Gore that will force Hill to throw, which isnt a goood propostion. Loss.

Falcons -6 I don't like to bet on my team, but the defense looked good last week Peterson and Williams paid immediate dividends. Hopefully Ryan is a little crisper this week with his throws. Delhomme is on the hook and will be pressing in this game which will lead to mistakes and money in my account. I half expected the spread on this game to be -9, so I am a little surprised. This is a divisional game so I expect the Falcons to bring their A game. Turner was contained against the Dolphins, who have a nice defense so hopefully he has a coming out party for this game. Win.

Raiders +3 Did I just write that? I was impressed with the Raiders on Monday night against the Chargers, while they had a late loss, this Raider team is too young to let it bother them. Seymour made a huge difference on the D-line. I hope to see him doing push-ups on top of Brody Croyle a few times during this game. The Cheifs are hot garbage, yeah they put up points on the Ravens but 14 of those points were dumb luck, the Chiefs had no offensive production and the Raiders D was great against the "powerhouse offensive juggernaut that is the Chargers". Bowe won't even catch a ball in this game you can write that down. I like the Raiders running game too as well as Russell hitting his TE. I am looking for the Raiders to come in to Arrowhead and get a win against their hated division rivals here and I will gladly take the points! Win.

Saints +1 This is my projected line here as the actual spread has not been posted. The Eagles O-line is in bad shape and that will show in this contest especially with Kolb under center. Drew Brees is quite possibly the best QB in the game right now. Sean Payton knows how to beat Andy Reid. Brees is known for torchinfg the Eagles secondary and that was while the Eagles had Dawkins. The Saints D is improved and with Kolb as the signal caller the Saints will focus on containing Westbrook, willing the Eagles to throw on an improved Saints secondary. Don't be fooled by the Saints giving up 27 to the Lions. 14 of those points were scored on special teams and the Lions D, the Saints got 3 picks off Stafford and with the old ball hawk Darren Sharper roaming the field he will look to feast on Kolb's bad decisions. Win.

Ravens +3 This is another projected line from yours truly as Bodog is taking thier sweet time posting the spreads. Cam Cameron will have an excellent game plan lined up for his former employers, just as he did against the Dolphins last year. Flacco will have deep throws available due to the Chargers inability to pass rush. Look for Rice, Mcclain to have big days as the Chargers have some injuries up front and were unable to conatin the Raiders rushing game.Win.

Giants +3 I almost fell off my chair when I read this line and immediately dropped an 8 unit play on the Giants. The Cowboys will be under enormous pressure from Jones to win their home opener in their new stadium. The Giants are road warriors and will not be fazed by the 600,000 square foot screen hanging over the field. The Giants are 21-6 ATS on the road since 2006, Plus teams opening new stadiums are 5-7 ATS. The spread on this game suggests that these teams are equal, which they are not. The Cowboys struggled against the lowly Bucs who do not even have a play book, Dallas was unable to sack Leftwich, who is slow and taked forever to wind up. The Giants D-line is nasty and will dictate this game. I like this game alot. Vegas is trying to trap the casual bettor into laying money on Dallas don't buy it.Win.

There we go folks, a HUGE slate of action for us on Sunday as the Blanket attempts to improve on his 4-0 NFL start!

NCAA Pick 'em Week #3

Well my money loving friends Vegas got killed on their NFL action Sunday, the Ravens, Saints, Cowboys and Seahawks wrecked their coffers. Don't shed a tear because they came back last night with the Patriots and Chargers squeaking by without covering. However, do not mistake Veags getting bent over as an act of benevolence. Vegas was merely setting up the average gambler for next week, nothing Vegas likes more than an overconfident, uninformed gambler with money to lose. Lucky for my readers you guys do not fall into that category. Me and Billy Vegas exchanged some words last week as we often do during football season because we are passionate about winning and providing ROI for our subscribers. So here are some of my college picks for this weekend as I will be out of town this weekend so I need to get my action in a bit early.

Boise St. -7 I'm going against the grain on this one. As I normally use the homedog theory in this situation. However it is a theory not a rule. Fresno State lost to a Wisconsin team that had half the team down due to the flu, no more Tom Brandstater either. Even with him Fresno State lost to Boise St. 61-10 last year. I know FSU is at home for this game, but Boise State is a great road team. Chris Peterson even though I dont like him is a good coach. Boise State is in a position to make a BCS game so I doubt they will take any opponent lightly. Win.

Bowling Green -3 The Falcons are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games. I have been keeping an eye on them as I am always looking for a money train to hitch a free ride on! Bowling Green dusted off a decent Troy team and easily covered in a loss to a surprising Mizzou team. Marshall is a dumpster fire and they are 0-4-1 ATS against Bowling Green. Even though they are at home I don't really see the fans swaying this game in their favor. Marshall is coming off a loss getting dump trucked by the Hokies, so they will have difficulty getting up for a "pedestrian" opponent. Loss.

Nevada -3 The Wolfpack has had 2 weeks to lick their wounds and prepare for the Rams. The Rams beat dumpster fire Colorado adn Weber State by 1. CSU is 2-4 ATS in the last 6 games versus Nevada. Hopefully Kaepernick will rebound from their dismal performance against Notre Lame and deliver the Rams their first lost of the season.Loss.

Buffalo +4 The Bulls put up some points against a good Pittsburgh team on the road last week. Given that UCF hates winning and they also can't beat teams named the Bulls!!! (had to get my USF reference in there). I like getting 4 points here because it turns a FG into a touchdown. Lets hope Turner Gill has his Bulls ready to play for this one and picks up another win versus a C-USA team!Loss.

Cincinatti -1 The Bearcats continue to get no respect. Cincy is 8-1 SU in its last 9 games. Why does that matter? Because they are only laying a point here. The Bearcats only loss in the last 9 came at the hands of VT. Tony Pike has been on fire after lighting up Rutgers (who were favored by 5) and didn't show signs of slowing down against a direction school last week. The Beavers on the other hand squeaked by UNLV, not taking anything away from the Rebels. Plus the Beavers Lyle Moevao is questionable for this game, as are the Beavers chances of winning.Win.

There we have it money lovers, I might add a game or two to my action as I am eyeing a few more games right now as I look to improve on my 6-4 NCAA season record.

Weekend Recap NFL/ NCAA action

My college action could have been better this weekend as I went a pedestrian 3-2, bringing my season record to 6-4. Great day with my NFL action as we went 4-0. I also picked up some ML bets going light on the Cowboys and Vikings, went heavy on the Giants and Seahawks to ramp up on some profits. I was disappointed in the Ravens, KC made a game out of it with Brody Croyle at QB in the Ravens house. Maybe the Cardinals are missing play caller Todd Haley, their offense did not look good. All in all got some good insight today on the upcoming NFL season. I went a little conservative on my picks, next week I will add anoter game or two, but i'm trying to take only the cream of the crop.

Week 2 NCAA Action and Picks

I finished last week 7-2, going 4-0 on the last two days of the weekend. Thanks in part to Mississippi, Colorado St, Miami and Cincinatti. Billy Vegas is on timeout for poor performance. When I last talked to him he said he is "moving into a new apartment, I'm gonna make alot of money there." I hope so battle. Here are my picks for this weekend.

USC -7 Terrell Pryor made the Mike Vick fashion statement in last weeks game against Navy. Stay classy Ohio St. Honestly I wish Ohio St, Notre Dame and Florida State could be shoved into a cannon and launched into orbit forever, they could float around in space and talk about their sense of entitlement. Back to Pryor, I actually met him at a dogfight a couple of days ago and he is a really nice guy. I kid, I kid. I hope he gets snapped in half on Saturday. Ohio St has no chance in this game. USC has better players at every position on the field and Pete Carroll has this team well coached. Ohio States O-line is in for a bad day, write that down. Trojans by 17. Loss.

Toledo +4 This game fits into the live weeknight home dog theory. This game also means alot more to Toledo then it does to Colorado. Colorado should not be laying points on the road. I feel that this is a trap game with Colorado laying 4 to a "much lesser opponent". Hopefully we avoid this trap. Win.

Syracuse +29 Syracuse hung tough with a decent Gophers team last week. Greg Paulus actually surprised me. For that reason alone I see this game as a win in the money column, the Orange will deliver a covered loss in this game. 4 TD's is a bit much, people are laying alot of wood on Penn State due to their soft schedule and Vegas is upping the ante to compensate. Look for Paulus to give the Nittany Lions fits with well time scrambles and a knack for making plays. Win.

Michigan +3 I know, I know, Notre Lame is the best team ever, because they woodsheded Nevada who is 119th against the pass. However, Michigan milk cartoned a good Western Michigan team. Pitching basically a shut out against a talented QB and a cross state team. Michigan flashed some great team speed and some solid D. Lets hope they hang a loss on fatty and ND at home in The Big House, Michigan will be pumped up for this showdown because a win here and they are back in the top 25. Richie Rod is known for the great job he does in his 2nd year of coaching a team. I'm excited for this game. Win.

UNC -4 The Huskies squeaked by a very pedestrian Ohio team. While I don't think much of the Tarheels, I think they can beat a UCONN team that is rebuilding and has new pieces at QB and RB. Loss.

Let's hope for 5-0 this weekend, or at least a 4-1 mark. I need the money. Thanks Steelers (fucking shitbags)

Season Record 6-4

Week #1 NFL Picks

The NFL season is here, although now I am a bigger college football fan than pro, but first and foremost I am a fan of money. NFL Week #1 is always the hardest to handicap for me, but I will do my best to increase my bank account and yours. Let's see what picks are ready to come out of the oven...............

49ers +7 San Francisco is 6-2 as a divisional dog of 7+ points. Plus there is the dreaded Super Bowl hangover, 73% public money is on the Cardinals, go figure. I hate public, but I love money. Both defenses ranked 10 against the rush, both have holes on the O-line, both have QB's who looked rough in pre-season. Warner coming off hip surgery has had little time to work with Bolden and Breaston. I think this line is inflated, Cardinals will win but not by 7. Win.

Seahawks -8 Seattle thrashed the Rams last year 37-13 with an injured Matt Hasselback, he is healthy now and this could be a statement game for new coach Jim Mora Jr. This is a divisional game as well. Marc Bulger has been out with a broken finger and has not taken many snaps, the Rams still have a bunch of question marks on defense. The only thing that scares me on this game is that the public is pounding the Seahawks at 84%. If the Seahawks can score quickly the Rams will be in danger of becoming a one trick pony and will be forced to throw the ball. Win.

Ravens -13 Time for a quote from my favorite movie "This is gonna be fucking fun" Chiefs roll into Baltimore for a beating of epic proportions. Matt Cassell is a joke and will most likely become a permanent part of the turf at the Raven's Stadium. KC's D-line will get thrown around the field all game long and Ray Rice will think he is playing USF again while he runs up and down the field. Flacco and the offense are still underated. The Ravens will sack Cassel so much he will long for the days when he was tying Tom Brady's shoes for him. Public pounding the Ravens at 87%, has the public been reading my blog?? If so where are my royalty/ loyalty checks?? Win.

Saints-13 Matthew Stafford is in over his head here. Although he has CJ and Kevin Smith for weapons he simply is not ready for a shoot out with Drew Brees and one of the top offenses in the league. Speaking of which the Saints defense has been upgraded this year and I see them giving my Falcons fits for the NFC south title. Detroit just doesn't have the defense to stay in this game. Pierre Thomas listed as questionable, Mike Bell and Reggie Bush will be enough to smash through Detroits less than stellar D. Win.

There you go people, we are starting off with 4 games on Sunday, I might add 1 or 2 more games to the action if I have a good Saturday. Let's start off 4-0!!

Season Record 4-0.

NCAA Week #1 Free Money Alert!!!!

Long time no see my gambling legion of loyal fanatics, College football season is upon us and Vegas and Bodog are cringing in fear as I am about to post my first picks of the year!! Without further delay here we go.........

Oregon @ Boise State -3.5 Tough game here for the Ducks, conventional wisdom says take the Ducks, but the line is going down faster than the strippers at Mons Venus. This game is huge for Boise State and their program. Also 87% of the public money is on the Ducks. Im taking the Broncos with the homefield advantage. Win.

Michigan vs. Western Michigan +13 Michigan is in disaray, I dont see them coming out fired up for this one given the fact they do not like to practice. I think Michigan wins this game, but not by 13, the line should be 4, but since its Michigan its not. The Wolverines have some talent, but Western Michigan QB Tim Hiller is no slouch and will keep this game tight. Loss.

Georgia @ Oklahoma State -5 I do not think that the Bulldogs can keep up with the Pokes high powered offense in Stillwater. Georgia struggled against Michigan State in their bowl game and have lost some key players. While the Bulldogs are good, the Pokes play in a hostile environment and a new QB will not fare well. Plus the Pokes defense is supposedly revamped, we shall see.
Win.

Virginia Tech vs. Alabama -6.5 I'm not buying the Tyrod Taylor hype, no Darren Evans for an already anemic offense, plus Alabama's stout defense, could get ugly for the Hokies. Alabama has alot of weapons and this game should be a mismatch. I was surprised to see the line at 6.5, I was expecting at least 14. Win.

Washington vs. LSU -17.5 This is alot of wood to lay on the road, but Washington is going up against a defense that travels well and Jake Locker while good isnt Tim Tebow. The LSU defense and ground attack will be too much for the Huskies. Loss.

Season Record is 3-2.

There you have it my friends!! Lets hope for a windfall of cash for kickoff weekend!!
