The NFL season is here, although now I am a bigger college football fan than pro, but first and foremost I am a fan of money. NFL Week #1 is always the hardest to handicap for me, but I will do my best to increase my bank account and yours. Let's see what picks are ready to come out of the oven...............
49ers +7 San Francisco is 6-2 as a divisional dog of 7+ points. Plus there is the dreaded Super Bowl hangover, 73% public money is on the Cardinals, go figure. I hate public, but I love money. Both defenses ranked 10 against the rush, both have holes on the O-line, both have QB's who looked rough in pre-season. Warner coming off hip surgery has had little time to work with Bolden and Breaston. I think this line is inflated, Cardinals will win but not by 7. Win.
Seahawks -8 Seattle thrashed the Rams last year 37-13 with an injured Matt Hasselback, he is healthy now and this could be a statement game for new coach Jim Mora Jr. This is a divisional game as well. Marc Bulger has been out with a broken finger and has not taken many snaps, the Rams still have a bunch of question marks on defense. The only thing that scares me on this game is that the public is pounding the Seahawks at 84%. If the Seahawks can score quickly the Rams will be in danger of becoming a one trick pony and will be forced to throw the ball. Win.
Ravens -13 Time for a quote from my favorite movie "This is gonna be fucking fun" Chiefs roll into Baltimore for a beating of epic proportions. Matt Cassell is a joke and will most likely become a permanent part of the turf at the Raven's Stadium. KC's D-line will get thrown around the field all game long and Ray Rice will think he is playing USF again while he runs up and down the field. Flacco and the offense are still underated. The Ravens will sack Cassel so much he will long for the days when he was tying Tom Brady's shoes for him. Public pounding the Ravens at 87%, has the public been reading my blog?? If so where are my royalty/ loyalty checks?? Win.
Saints-13 Matthew Stafford is in over his head here. Although he has CJ and Kevin Smith for weapons he simply is not ready for a shoot out with Drew Brees and one of the top offenses in the league. Speaking of which the Saints defense has been upgraded this year and I see them giving my Falcons fits for the NFC south title. Detroit just doesn't have the defense to stay in this game. Pierre Thomas listed as questionable, Mike Bell and Reggie Bush will be enough to smash through Detroits less than stellar D. Win.
There you go people, we are starting off with 4 games on Sunday, I might add 1 or 2 more games to the action if I have a good Saturday. Let's start off 4-0!!
Season Record 4-0.
