Wild Card Weekend = a big accounty

I had a winning record on the last week of the season, round of applause for me. I took some last second action as well. I won on the Patriots and Dolphins but lost on the Seahawks when the "Backdoor Bandit" decided he hated me. Enjoyable weekend though, I savored the pathetic Bucs losing to the Raiders, Asamough wasn't even playing either. I also enjoyed watching "Aurora Snowmo" fumbling into the offseason, bye bye Cowboys!!! The Lions should be disbanded, "Megatron" should be sent to the Falcons via the Rule 5 draft :) Can anyone tell me why Kevin Smith thought it prudent to shove the football into a Green Bay Packers face? Ummm.......scoreboard bitch and record board bitch as well for that matter. This brings me to the Bears, I was cheering for them and they quickly went up 10-0 in the first, I have several friends who are Bears fans and was watching the game with them as I saw a faint gleam of hope in their eyes in the 1st quarter. That hope quickly faded as the Bears defensive coordinator hated giving Tillman safety help to cover "Megatron II". I dont get it, why not double team Megatron and put a LB spy on Slaton? Is Matt Shaub going to show off his 6.7 speed? I also have my doubts about Mike Brown, I forgot Cornhuskers hate winning, so your calf hurts, big deal, drink some water and change your socks!! He should have been out there helping his team. Daniel Manning was running across the field like he was qualifying for the Olympics, or waited till Christmas Eve to start shopping for presents. Orton looked pretty good and Hester caught some balls, maybe the Bears owner will spend a few dollars this offseason and improve his team. I cant believe the Bears let Bobby Wade get the last laugh. Onto my wild card weekend picks, I am expecting a windfall of profits because rent is due soon!!

Falcons -2 @ Cardinals: Warner is 7-1 vs the Falcons, as a lifelong Falcons fan I remember going to the Georgia Dome with 8,000 other people and watching Warner and the Rams put up 56 on my Falcons. DIE. Time for your comeuppance my friend. Ken Whisenhunt is 6-1 ATS as a 3 point dog at home, but he's not playing and Matt Ryan isn't the "Backdoor Bandit" or "Aurora Snowmo". This will be a high scoring game, I dont think that the Cards can stop Turner and if they put 8 in the box Matt "What's so hard about making the playoffs?" Ryan will torch their abysmal secondary. The Falcons should be able to stop the Cardinals running game, but I'm sure that Fitzgerald and Bolden will have their share of catches, after all Houston and Foxworth as well as Chevis Jackson are like 5'9" 102 lbs each. I think the Cards are overrated and it will show in this contest. Loss, bye bye money. Perhaps I was suffering from a case of homerism.

Eagles -3 @ Viqueens: My friend Billy Vegas has turned me into a Viking hater. Tavaris Jackson is going to make some new friends on Sunday, he might become a permanent part of the turf at the Hefty Bag. If he couldn't score until the Giants put their second team in, what is he going to do against Jim Johnson's unrelenting blitz packages. I hope TJ has his insurance paid up. Peterson is going to have to do ALOT if the Vikings stand a chance in this game, I dont think the Eagles will let Shancoe roam all over the field either, I also dont see Berrian or Wade catching balls against the Eagles secondary. Mcnabb should light up the Viqueens secondary. As a Falcons fan I am afraid of the Eagles right now, Im also afraid of the Giants and Panthers too for that matter. Win, hello money. The Eagles care about me!!

Colts -1 @ Chargers: Manning went 7-7 on his only drive against the Titans, then Jim Sorgi..........................................................from? Wisconsin, came in and went 1342 for 1345. The Colts hate losing right now and I think that the Chargers still have their noses in the air. Your 8-8 big deal, payback comes into play in this match up, I'm not sure Freddy Kruger can beat Tony Dungy again in the playoffs, and I wont bet against Peyton Manning again, he hates me, my accounty and my fantasy football team, He even hates my wolfpack. Im not sold on the Chargers and I dont like Rivers or safties who wear neck rolls. I look for the Chargers to get bounced in this contest. Loss, bye bye money, I told you Peyton Manning hates me.

Ravens -3 @ Dolphins: This contest won't be close, the Dolphins just simply do not have the firepower on offense to pose much of a threat to the Ravens. Ed Reed will be starting at QB for this game and he will probably be doing his patented lets throw the ball down on the field and blow The Blankets cover move. Seriously Joe Flacco should have a nice game with John Mccain running the ball and Mason catching it, Laron Mcclain has pretty much made Magahee an afterthought as of late. These two teams played earlier in the season and the Ravens steamrolled to Dolphins, expect more of the same this time around. Win, Hello Money Ed Reed likes my accounty.

Week #17 NFL Picks

Treachery is afoot, week #17, the most dangerous week of them all. I cashed out 300 units sunday night and have to build my accounty back up quickly. I had an awful week last week, worst of my life going 3-5-1. Awful. So I am determined to go out with a bang and some nice cash. Here we.......GO!!

Giants +7 @ Vikings: No way the Vikings win this game by seven, Tom Coughlin does not rest his players. Minnie has no answer for the Giants WR's and Big Blue will be able to run the ball with Pat Williams out, the Vikqueens will fumble their way out of the game and lose, then Bobby Wade will say the Bears will choke and blow it, good luck next year Brad Clueless. Win. Hello Money, although I am dissapointed as I had 1 unit on the Giants ML at +245 and lost by a point.

Saints +3 @ Panthers: Delhomme cant beat winning teams on the road, no NFC South team has lost at home to a conference foe this year. Drew Brees is unstoppable at home 19TD's to 4 INT. Brees will be throwing all over the field to try and pass Marino. The Saints can stop the run, and also have a running game with Thomas, Saints win outright. Win, hello money. I still don't like the Saints even though they covered for me.

Chiefs +3 @ Bengals: The Dolphins gave up zero TD's in their last three games before they played KC, Thigpen had no respect for the Dolphins defense. The Bengals do have a good defense, but they also have Ryan Fitzpatrick, who will do his 5-yd dump specialty all day long. Benson was even too tired to drink and drive on Sunday after they beat Cleveland . I cant see the Chiefs scoring less than 20 in this one, and given the Bengals offense I see them getting 14, so i will take the points and the money. Loss, bye bye money. I undervalued the Bengals defense here.

Titans-3 @ Colts: Hello money!! Expect to see alot of Jim Sogi and the Frenchman. Dungy never plays his starters in week #17. Ever. Titans made me pay for doubting them this week, I wont do that again. Loss, bye bye money. Who knew Jim Sorgi = Drew Brees, VY was awful in this game.

Ravens -13 vs. Jags: Jax has absolutely no motivation to play this game, their cars will be running and they will play the game like they are double parked. After blowing a 14 point lead against the Colts Jax is out of gas, the Ravens are not going to let up either this team is dangerous and still underrated . Win, hello money. Ed Reed thinks he is a WR.

There we have it, good luck to all and I will see you next week for my playoff action.

Week 16 NFL Action

Simple equation folks, my picks+ your money= profits for you. I went 3-1-1 last week which in my terms would be graded as ok. I will put forth a great effort to this week to increase our bottom line. Much like most of you my account was hammered by the purchase of Christmas presents, bye bye credit limit. I have a total of 8 games this weekend, me likey.

Jags+7 vs. Colts: The Jaguars hate the Colts and want to beat them badly. This will be Jacksonville's superbowl. Last week the Colts struggled at home versus the Lions and the Jags managed a win against the Pack. Look for MJD to have a huge game, the colts simply cannot stop the run and Drew scorced them in their first meeting. This series is usually very close, 11 of 13 contests have been by 8 points or less. Push, hello same amount of money, I hate giving interest free loans, and the Jags hate having 2 TD leads.

Chiefs +4 vs. Dolphins: Dolphins can't cover spreads at home, so why are they favored in KC and at Arrowhead in December of all places. The Dolphins will have no answer for Gonzalez or Bowe, Thigpen has continued to play well and even though the Dolphins don't turn the ball over I just don't see them covering at Arrowhead. I like the Chiefs to win outright. Loss, bye bye money, the begining of a terrible Sunday for my accounty.

Lions +7 vs. Saints: It just occured to me that I am taking the home dogs alot so far, that usually tends to pay dividends in the accounty. That being said I think the Lions will win their first game here against the Saints, Drew Brees is not good on the road and the Lions have been playing hard. So the Saints have nothing to play for and will be sans Reggie Bush, Meanwhile the Lions are looking to avoid a trip to the NFL HOF for the wrong reasons. Somehow I don't see Jason David being able to cover Calvin Johnson, also look for Kevin Smith to get involved in the passing game to because the Saints are 11th versus the run. Loss, bye bye money, the Lions hate me and my accounty.

Bengals +3 @ Browns: Ken Dorsey is terrible, wow, I don't think I have ever seen a QB that bad, which begs the question why don't the Browns just leave Josh Cribbs in at QB. Also Jamal Lewis might be the slowest human being on the face of the earth, the fans will be all over Braylon Edwards.................................FROM? Michigan, apparently there are some hostilities between the fans and Edwards. Cedric "DUI" Benson.................................FROM? Texas, ran wild on the Redskins and Ryan Fitzpatrick............................FROM? Harvard played pretty well against the Redskins secondary. Win, hello money. Wow everyone look, I actually covered a game.

Steelers -2 @ Titans: Titans will be without Vanden Bosch and Haynesworth, I don't think the Titans have the firepower to score enough points on the Steelers defense, which has been playing lights out. As I stated earlier the Titans have had a relatively easy schedule this year, I don't see the combo of Johnson and White doing much against the Steelers D, forcing Collins into tough throwing situations. I like the Steelers here. Loss, bye bye money. I forgot Big Ben hates having footballs in his hand, maybe put some more gloves on.

Texans -7 @ Raiders: The Raiders are a dumpster fire, the Texans are playing for their first winning season. Andre Johnson is unstoppable, Matt Schaub and Steve Slaton have been excellent as well. I think the Texans would even cover this one if Sage Rosenchoker himself were playing. Loss, bye bye money. Are the Raiders becoming....................decent?

Seahawks +5 vs. Jets: I like this game ALOT, the Jets can't win on the west coast let alone cover. Seneca Wallace = a covering machine, Seneca Wallace...............................FROM? Iowa State. The Jets are a tad overrated in my opinion and I think they are starting to see their cracks. Plus the Jets have a showdown with the patriots next week, no doubt they will look past Seattle, who by the way New England squeaked by. The public is pounding the Jets to the tune of 76%, me likey. I think Seattle wins this one outright. Win. Hello money, this one was easy though. The "Backdoor Bandit" struck again.

Eagles -5 @ Redskins: Well at least the Eagles tied the vaunted Bengals. The Eagles have been playing great football lately, the Redskins not so much. I look for the Eagles to keep on rolling as they hope to stay alive in the playoff hunt. Mcnabb, Westbrook and Jackson should have nice games. Loss, bye bye money. I seem to always be a week off on when the Eagles will decide to play.

That's all my action, enjoy as the regular season is winding down and its time to pry the rest of vegas's money from their hands!!!

Week 15 NFL Picks

Today is a sad day, no college football. Very depressing, none the less there is money to be made my friends. I have picked 5 of the best games I thought would like to make us money. Here are my 5 NFL Picks up:

49ers +7 @ Miami: Miami simply can't cover more than 3 points, need examples? Rams 16-12 Seahawks 21-19, both of those contests were road wins for Miami. That being said the 49ers have been playing well under Singletary (3-2 with losses to Dallas and Arizona) Frank Gore will probably not be playing and Deshaun Foster is not very good. However, i think the 49ers will play that much harder as a result. Shaun Hill takes care of the ball and the 49ers defense can get to the QB. Win. Hello money. Dolphins haven't given up a touchdown in a while, but the 49ers like my accounty.

Chiefs +6 vs. Chargers: Public betting is pounding the Chargers to the tune of 81%. Me likey . Chiefs lost to the Chargers by 1 point in their last meeting. Since then the Chiefs have got Larry Johnson back and Thigpen has been playing even better, due to San Diego's lack of a pass rush and KC's O-line Thigpen should be able to hit Gonzalez and Bowe against the Chargers lackluster secondary. Tomlinson did not fair too well against the Chiefs poor rush D in the first meeting I look for the same in this match up. San Diego is a cocky team, known for taken "inferior" opponents for granted. Win. Hello Money. I hate the Chargers they should have lost outright, but the Chiefs hate playing 4th quater defense.

Redskins -7 @ Bengals: Bye bye Bengals. Look for the Redskins to turn their season around here. I don't see the Bengals defensive line coming anywhere near Jason Campbell. Portis probably won't have that great of a day becasue somehow the Bengals have been able to stop the run. Cedric Benson only likes getting DUI's and hates running with football's, this will force Fitzpatrick into long yardage situations, something he does not fair to well at. Chris Samuels is out but I dont think the Bengals will be able to take advantage of that. Redskins comfortably. Loss. Bye Bye Money. The Redskins are awful and should have to play in the AFL.

Texans +3 vs Titans: 86% of public money is on the Titans, bye bye public money. Texans win 34-20. Even though they have made me alot of money this year, the Titans have had a relatively easy schedule. The Texans are 7-0 ATS as home dogs, going 5-2 SU, me likey. I personally will be going heavy on this game. Shaub is back and has been out of his mind, Slaton and Johnson cant be stopped. Andre Johnson.........................................................FROM??? Miami. I win. Barring an appearance by Sage Rosenchoker this game likes my accounty. Plus the Titans have the Colts and Steelers to finish out the season, I don't see them going all out against a team they beat by 19 earlier this year. Win. Hello money. Texans are undervalued.

Falcons -3 vs. Bucs: Bye bye Jovan Haye and Chris Hovan, Garcia questionable as well. Payback time my friends, the Falcons gift wrapped the game for the Bucs earlier this year. And an NFC South visitor has yet to win a road game against a conference opponent this year. Matt Ryan has come a long way from his first performance against the Bucs and these two teams hate each other, and I personally loathe the Bucs. Falcons must win this game to get to the playoffs and they will do just that. Push. As long as my Falcons win with out costing me money, me likey.

There we have it people, the season is winding down, unlike my accounty, lets go 5-0 tomorrow!!

NCAA football picks December 6th games

The Blanket is back after a superb Sunday, I went 5-2 on my NFL action last weekend. I made a healthy profit, unfortunately 30% of that profit was eaten up by some awful picks given to me on my Saturday college action. I outsourced my NCAA picks prior to this week because the source of the picks couldn't cover a dish. How does one go 0-3 in college football picks?? So I have taken some time away from my NFL picks to research my college picks, Here is what I have:

Ball St. -14.5 vs Buffalo: I have been waiting all year for Ball St. to lose, not gonna happen. Buffalo hates playing defense and they just lost to Kent St. who does that besides Kent Tech? Nate Davis will light up the Bulls. I would like to see Ball St. play Notre Dame in a bowl game. "The Indiana Incandescent Bowl" (I dont know what that means) But wouldn't it be funny to watch the fat man eat sandwiches while Nate Davis passes for 18 miles?? Anyway I digress. Testicle Tech beats the Bulls easily.

Pitt +3 @ UCONN: This game will be the battle of the RB's, I say they cancel each other out, I dont think Lorenzen can keep UCONN in the lead, Pitt has done better in similar matchups than has UCONN, so I will take the Panthers in a close game.

USC -30 @ UCLA: Last chance for a statement game, last chance for Carroll to boat race Nuehisel (sp?) for that ad in the paper before the season. UCLA is a prom night dumpster baby. I honestly do not think that UCLA will score a point, watching their offense stings the eyeballs, poor Kevin Craft will probably be fused to the turf after the first quater. USC puts up at least 50, I am going to load up on this game.

Cincy -7 (buy the point) @ Hawaii: Bye bye Warriors, Hawaii struggled with Washington St. Tony Pike hates pineapples, Marty Gilyard hates necklaces made of flowers. I look for the Bearcats to tune up Hawaii in preperation for their BCS bowl game, must be nice to go to a BCS game, thanks USF :( ........ Brian Kelly hates losing as much as he hates not reading careerbuilder.com everyday. OH!! The Bearcats D is rather stout, they bottled up Grothe so I don't see Ionake Funake being able to run much, Cincy also has a very nice secondary.

Florida -9.5 vs Alabama: This game scares me, people are pounding Florida, which scares me even more. That being said looking at competitors they have in common Florida seems to have the advantage. Last time I bet against Florida they covered in 10 minutes and I was getting 24 points. I have to side with the Gators for the win, but 9.5 points that is a little rich for me. I think the line should be more like 3. Percy Harvin is hurt and Tebow is a little nicked up as well, but the Gators have won their last few games by like 28 points. I personally think the SEC is a tad overrated, and in my opinion 'Bama does not have a quality win, both Clemson and Georgia are frauds in my mind. So I am going to stick with Florida, but I will go light on this game.

Oklahoma -16.5@ Mizzou: This is free money, the Pokes destroyed Mizzou at home, Oklahoma destroys everyone they play, even my Dad is walking around with a Sam Bradford jersey on. Mizzou hates defense and Chase Daniels loves Colt McCoy and sandwiches, Sooners HUGE, Bradford will throw 9678686956087540540 touchdowns and have 7776598657765797976=9697=95717671=746=76=67=17676=097=654463 yards passing.

That's all I have folks, lets make a ton of money and pay off those Christmas presents early!!

Turkey Day Picks!!

The Blanket is on the road at the families house, that's right my friends even professional handicappers/ degenerate gamblers celebrate the holidays. I have some picks that are destined to stuff your wallet with some Turkey Cash!! Here we go short and sweet:

Titans -11.5 @ Lions: Im fading the Lions, they will lose this game by 21 points. Tennessee is pissed off and this will be a statement game. Culpepper will continue to steal money from the Lions, Drew Henson is his back up, good luck with that.

Cowboys -13 vs Seahawks: If this game wasnt on Turkey Day I would take the Seahawks, but it is Romo covers easily on Thanksgiving. He will have a good day today as well against the Seahawks Pass D, Seattle will not be able to run the ball either.

Cardianls +3 @ Eagles: Eagles are a prom night dumpster baby right now, Westbrook is really banged up, they have no running game and no playmakers, Mcnabb cant pass the ball to himself. Right now I dont think the Eagles should be laying points to anyone. I dont care that the Cards traveled cross country, im tired of hearing that crap. The Cards will claim another NFC east victim today.

There you have it my loyal readers enjoy your holiday and your profits.

Week 12 NFL Action

Loyal readers and degenerate gamblers, I am at a loss. Vegas was piling up money last weekend until the 4pm games kicked off then Vegas looked up at the flat screens and said "bye bye money" Vegas sportsbooks had another horrible week. This is most likely due to the parity in the NFL this year. I have not yet conferred with my battle Billy Vegas yet today, I was placed on timeout for watching hockey while I was awaiting "The Shield" to start. Here is what I have so far. (Please keep in mind that double digit favorites are 1-12 ATS this year)

Titans -5 vs Jets: Heavy public betting on the Jets. This will be a statement game for the Titans as the Jets are 7-3 and the Titans are still looking to be recognized for their 10-0 start. Brett "I can throw interceptions too" Favre is due a choke game, since it didnt happen against the Patriots the Human Turnover machine might make an appearance here. The Jets Kris Jenkins has done well stopping the run, but at the same time Collins has proven he can do more than just manage then game by passing for 200 yards or more the last 2 games. Im riding the Titans till the wheels fall off. Loss. Titans suck, fuck them.

Vikings +3 @ Jags: Jags can't stop the run, Peterson will be able to open up the play action game for Frerotte to hit Berrian and Shaincoe (sp?) down the field against Jax's lackluster secondary. The Jags are deflated after their loss to the Titans and will come out flat. Meanwhile Brad Clueless will have a game plan in place to make sure that the Vikings leave their Florida road trip 1 and 1. Win. who cares.

Chiefs +3 vs Bills: Why is Buffalo laying points to the Chiefs on the road in Arrowhead of all places? I cant figure that one out. Trent Edwards has no confidence right now. 80% of the publics money is on the Bills, and remember the theme, Vegas is desperate right now for cash. The Chiefs have lost their last 3 games by an average of 2.7 points, those games were against the Bucs, Chargers and Jets. Thigpen is playing well, while the Chiefs defense is playing well I like the Chiefs spread offense in this one Thigpen will throw because Buffalo should be able to handle the running game of the Chiefs. Loss. Chiefs suck

Lions +8.5 vs. Bucs: The Bucs are 2-7 ATS as road favorites since 2004, they played like crap at Dallas and at KC. Plus the Bucs have 3 consecutive conference games after this date with the hapless Lions. The Bucs have been inconsistent in the red zone all year, plus Lions coach Marinelli coached with the Bucs for years and knows them well as evident by Detroit beating the Bucs in Tampa last year. Despite their blowout loss against a desperate Jags team the Lions have been competitive in every game since Oct. 12th, losing to teams with .500 records or better. Loss. Lions are pathetic and have zero heart, fuck the bucs too.

49ers +10.5 @ Cowboys: That is alot of wood for the Cowboys to be laying. Sean Hill has been playing well under center. The 49ers have been playing well for Singletary, they blew it against the Cardinals in the last minute, but they blew out the Rams last week. Look for the 49ers to come out confident and for Dallas to overlook them. 88% of the publics money is on the 49ers, if that gets closer to 50% by sunday I will go heavy on this game. Romo is 3-10 ATS as a 7 point favorite, (excluding Thanksgiving day 5-10). Remember the 49ers played the Cards tougher than the Cowboys did this year, so that 10. 5 points Im getting makes me feel comfortable. Loss. Singletary needs to be fired, he sux and so does his team.

Raiders +9.5 @ Broncos: Divisonal game, Raiders will be looking for revenge after the blowout earlier this season by the Broncos. Russel and Mcfadden will be back in the line up and I look for Fargas to have a big day against Denver's so-so pass defense. I dont see the Broncos being able to match the Raiders intensity in this one as the Broncos are 2 games up in the standings and have a big date with the jets next week.

Falcons -1 vs Panthers: This is a statement game for the Falcons, the "mighty" Panthers are 8-2, even though Delhomme has not played well as of late, Matt Ryan has played well. The Falcons have to take this game at home to gain credibility and keep up with the pack. The Panthers have a good pass defense so look for Turner to have a big game. I also expect the Atlanta secondary to make some plays and take advantage of Delhomme's propensity to throw pics as of late.

Redskins -3.5 @ Seahawks: This could be a big unit play for me. The Redskins are in a tough spot and need this win bad, and lets not count out the revenge factor from the playoffs last year. Hassleback will be playing, after just having a concussion last week. The Redskins secondary is solid and I dont see Jones doing much running against Washinton. Portis should be starting which will help Campbell go downfield to torch the Seahawks skeleton crew secondary.

Packers +2.5 @ New Orleans: Green Bay likes to cover for me when they are dogs, and makes me pay when I go against them. (Thanks Bears) That being said the Packers are healthy and playing well. Ryan Grant has woke up and is playing well, New Orleans will have no running game in this contest. I look for Rodgers to have a big day as Jennings and Driver will boatrace the Saints terrible secondary.

Thats what I have so far people I have a couple more games to look at and I might make some changes, but The Blanket is not feeling to well today and needs his rest!!

Weekend Recap

What started out as a nice money making weekend going 4-0 on our college action (actually 3-0-1 thanks to bodog's bullshit Ohio St. line) quickly went to shit starting at 1 pm eastern time. I went 2-3 on my NFL action, which washed away alot of my college profits. That being said I am now very angry and looking for revenge. Vegas you need to deal with the fact that I have increased my account by 5x my deposit amount so far this season, so I have alot of your money in my pocket. The rest of the NFL season has now become personal, your bullshit lines are starting to piss me off and I am glad to see your false line on the Jags game blew up in your face. So get ready for a bar fight Vegas, nothing more foolish than pissing me off when money is on the line.

Week 11 NFL picks

Vegas and all sportsbooks across the land were absolutely hammered last week with the NFL slate of action, lets hope vegas has another bad week, becasue when vegas does bad, we do well. As a result of their huge losses last week, they have made the lines extremely difficult. So I have done my best to pick the best games I could here we go:

Falcons -6 vs Broncos: Atlanta is unbeaten at home, and the Falcons defense did a great job containing the Saints powerful offense. In comes the Broncos and Jay Cutler, no doubt Cutler can wing it, but the Broncos have Tatum Bellhop at RB, bye bye rushing game. Denver's defense is not to good, I look for Matt Ryan to have another big day as well as "Marta" ( the fans nickname for Micheal Turner) I can't believe that my beloved Falcons can actually make a playoff appearance this year. Loss. Bye bye money. Well same old Falcons, couldnt score against a beaten up and not good to begin with Broncos defense. Fuck off falcons, you suck.

Bucs -4 vs. Vikings: The Bucs have never covered for me, that being said im due. This is a big game for them. I dont see Frerotte throwing for many yards on the Bucs D and I do not think Peterson can get it done by himself, lets hope the Bucs take this one coming off the bye week. Win. Hello money. About time the Bucs covered for me. Im glad they beat the Vikings.

Titans -3 @ Jags: All the trends in this one point to taking the Jags in this game. But I just dont see it. The two teams hate each other and I dont see this being a let down game for the Titans, Collins proved he could throw against the Bears and the Titans will be able to run the ball against the Jags. The Titans D is great they should take the Jags WR's out of the game, forcing Jax to run the ball, we will see how that works out for them. Win. Hello money. Titans came alive in the 2nd half and the D line was all over Garrard.

Eagles -9 vs Bengals: I m expecting the Eagles to come out firing in this one, lets not forget what they did to Seattle at Qwest field, they played the giants tough and Philly is in desperate need of a win, and on gue here come the lowly Bengals, regardless if Palmer plays or not I dont think the Bengals d can stop Mcnabb and Westbrook. Loss. Bye bye money. A tie? Against the Bengals? yeah, enjoy the NFC East cellar Fagles, your team sucks.

Bears +3.5 @ Packers: Must win game for both teams. Bears played the Titans tough last week with a backup at QB. Ryan Grant will be a non-factor in this game. Matt Forte is a young Brian Westbrook in my eyes, I look for him to have a huge game. I am not sold on Aaron Rodgers, so I like the Bears to keep this one close. Loss. Bye bye money. Too much listening to my battle about Kyle Orton, the bottom line is he sucks and the Bears are fucking garbage.

Weekend Recap of NFL and NCAA action

My friends its no coincidence that I like money. After an unproductive saturday in which I went 2-2 and lost money (thx Pokes and Penn St.) I recovered with an OUTSTANDING sunday on my NFL action, as you can see from my last post I went undefeated in my published picks. In an effort to bring up the bottom line and recover from the last 2 weeks of money loss due to college football I took some action on all three 4'oclock games. I took the Chiefs, Raiders and Steelers, going 1-1-1 on the afternoon games respectively. My only loss on sunday was with the Steelers, so I will make this statement, the Steelers are overrated, I will now refer to them as the Cowboys of the AFC. I have some good news starting this week I will go back to making my own college picks, because my "battle" over at Game Theory has been unable to deliver profits as of late. The bad news is due to my "battles" refusal to say thanks for giving him 5 money making wins, my NFL picks will not be posted until one minute after kickoff on Sunday's sorry folks but sometimes the actions of one affect the bank accounts of many.

Week 10 NFL picks

Here we go after a less than impressive performance I should be back to extensive profit making this week. Here is my NFL action for this week:

Titans-3 @ Bears: I think the Titans take this one on the road, Titans rushing attack will be too much for Chicago's D to handle, Collins will be able to take advantage of the Bears beat up secondary. The Titans will be coming after Orton to test the ankle early. Win. Hello money, the Titans open up the passing game to beat the Bears at home.

Falcons-1 vs Saints: I don't understand this line. I think the Falcons are undervalued at home. I see Matt Ryan taking apart the Saints secondary, Jason "Toast" David will get burnt early and Kasevaharn (sp?) isnt much better. Brees will score but the Falcons D doesn't get much credit, the Georgia Dome will be rocking after the Falcons destroyed Oakland last week Win. Hello money. Falcons with an easy cover remain undefeated at home.

Packers +2 @ Vikings: Sorry, Im still not buying the Vikings. Harris and Bigby are back and Ill take Rodgers over Gus any day. Pack coming off a tough road loss and the Vikings squeaked by Sage Rosenchoker last week. I like the Pack to win straight up. Win. Hello money. Packers are garbage but managed to comeback for a late cover. I like money!!

Ravens -1 @ Texans: No Matt Shaub, that guy is more delicate than Chris Chandilier. Ravens have been playing good ball the last few weeks, their D is tough as usual and Flacco has proved he can score. I just dont see how Rosenchoker can score enough points against the Ravens to win and Houstons defense is worse than Clevelands. Win. Hello money. Too easy people, Rosenchoker threw 4 pics, bye bye Texans and bye bye all the late bettors on the Texans, thanks for your money. Learn how to cover.

Giants +3 @ Eagles: I think there is good value on the Giants here, this will no doubt be a great game but I think the Giants D can keep it close and Eli is playing well. Win. Hello money. Giants live up to their record overcoming two turnovers on the road against a good Eagles team.

There we have it hopefully we can go 5 and 0 this weekend as I really like these games. Good luck.

Week 10 NCAA Pick-a-thon!!!

Warning free money ahead!! I'm dropping some of my college picks on you right now, I have a couple more games I am still looking at. Also as many of you have heard the shockwave that went through Vegas has taken the gambling world by storm! That's right my friends me and my former battle Billy Vegas have decided to go our seperate ways, so I will no longer endorse any of his picks college or NFL, besides his picks are pre-packaged for him. Ok here are my picks; enjoy!!!!

Kansas St +10.5 @ Kansas: This game is a huge rivalry, I dont think there has been a double digit spread ever in this matchup. With that said Kansas St. will want this game more than a dissappointed KU team coming off a devastating loss. Go light on this game because there are no trends for double digit spreads in this series. Loss, bye bye money. I half expected K State to show up in this one.

Iowa St +31 @ Oklahoma St: No doubt the Pokes win this game in Stillwater, but they left it ALL on the field versus Texas, so they wont be playing up to their abilities after a undeserved fall in the rankings. Plus the Pokes have yet to win by more than 28 all year and that includes Washington St. 2 units Loss, bye bye money. That's what I get for betting against Oklahoma St. they have won me some nice coinage this year.

Western Kentucky -17 vs. North Texas: I really like this game, North Texas is near dead last in every statistical category, they are 0-8 and just had 17 players popped for illegal drugs, who ordered the drug tests you ask? The headball coach, so I do not see this team getting up to play for the NARC coach on the road. Hello money 5 units. Loss, go fuck yourselves WKU, you are the worst football team ever to play the game u should be demoted to division 6856875085. I hope you never win another game, EVER.

Cent. Michigan +2 @ Indiana: Dan Lefevere is going to be back in action, I think Indiana is laying 2 bc they are part of the Big 10, Indy is coming off a win, but I like C. Mich in this game, WTF is a Chippewas anyway? Speaking of which I finally saw a pic of a Bearcat the other day, scary!! 1 unit on this game. Win, no Lefevere but they pull it out, at least someone covered for me.

Mizzou -20@ Baylor: Baylor has improved, but they are still only 3-5, Mizzou shows up in meaningless games. Chase "I love Colt Mccoy" Daniel has a big day as the Tigers beat the Bears in Waco. 1 unit. Loss, bye bye money. Mizzou is soooooo overrated, maybe play some defense you pricks.

Oregon +3 @ Cal: I dont think the Bears have what it takes to beat the Ducks, Orgeon has lost to USC and Boise St, but they were also having QB problems, they seem to have found their man now in Massoli. 1 unit. Loss, bye bye money. Apparently Cal likes to play in typhoons, Massoli forgot what color uniform Oregon was wearing. The Ducks suck.

Boise St -20.5 @ N. Mexico St: NMSU lost to Idaho, enough said I win. Boise st does the usually giggle fest in the first half then gets to business in the second half. 1 unit. Win, hello money. I undervalued this game, Boise st looks solid.

TCU -14 @ UNLV: I'm taking the Horned Frogs in this one, UNLV is no cupcake, but TCU's defense is too tough, they destroyed BYU and took their manhood and UNLV hung with them as well, wont be the case in this game. 2 units. Win, hello money. UNLV is a decent team and TCU took them apart, me likey.

Utah -7.5 @ New Mexico: I don't like anything from Utah. Period, including the Utes. They are highly overated. Oh there not? Ok then they will have no problem covering the 7.5 right? You better hope so or I am going to shred them. 1 unit. Loss. bye bye money. Utah proved my point squeaking by a one dimensional 4-3 team. Fuck off Utah, you are the most overated team in football, I cant wait till u get your asses kicked.

Thats what I have so far people enjoy your weekend and if you see Billy Vegas ask him who has two thumbs and more than doubled his account for him in the summer, thats right, this guy did!!

Week 9 NFL Picks

Im back people, I went 9-5 on college football and 9-3 on the NFL, I have been up and down on the NFL so far this season, very unBlanket like. That being said I have been spying on Vegas and they have been eating at 5 star restaurants since the NFL season has started. Vegas went 7-1 this weekend due to the Ravens cover (their one loss). Vegas has been killing the casual gambler. As stated by my battle Billy Vegas over at Banter Theory we bet ALL the games we put up. Well enough shop talk lets get to the money part, here are my picks:

Jets +5.5 @ Buffalo: I don't think the Bills are quite yet ready to lay 5.5 points. It will mostly be on Trent Edwards because The Jets are ranked 2nd versus the rush. Both teams will be up for this game, since a share of the division lead is on the line. Favre is going to have to move the chains himself as well, since Buffalo will shut down the Jets running game. Buffalo's secondary is banged up. Buffalo should win but I am nervous about the 5.5 points and they have not been particularly consistent at Ralp Wilson. Go light here 1 unit. Win. Hello money, Bills are a tad overvalued.

Jags -7.5 @ Cincy: The Jags have made Vegas ALOT of money as they are overvalued this season, the Jags haven't one by 7 all season. I have bet against the Jags 3 times this year (vs Buffalo, Denver and Cleveland) and won each time. This week I am buying them. Cincy is a "dumpster fire" to quote my battle. Fitzpatrick is terrible, he cant throw the ball over 10 yards, the offensive line in garbage as well. The Jags are desperate and need to save their season. They cover this game. Hello money!! 2 units. Loss. Bye Bye money. Jags are a prom night dumpster baby, no excuse to lose at cincy.

Lions +13.5 @ Bears: On paper one would like to push all in on Chicago, no so fast my friends!! 0 and 7 teams are 14-6 ATS since 2000. If the Lions put up 14, that means the Bears have to put up 29, 30 points to cover. This is a divisonal game, these teams know each other well. My only problem with this spread is the Bears do not have an explosive offense, I know that Orlovsky is hot garbage and Calvin Johnson will have Bear DB's on him like a cheap suit. 1 Unit Win. Hello money. Bears won a squeaker, 13.5 was a big number for them.

Ravens +1.5 @ Browns: Derek "Jekyl and Hyde" Anderson will resurface this sunday. The Browns beat the Jags last week, but the Jags D is not, the Ravens have burned me twice this year, (thanks Chris Mccalister for getting milk cartoned against the Colts) that being said he is back from injury, the Ravens D is stout, Stallworth is out, the Browns only deep threat and Bralen Edwards hates catching leather balls thrown at him. Flacco has been playing alot better since his early season JT O'shitifumbledagain imatation, look for Mcgahee to have a nice day as well. 1 Unit Win. Hello money, Browns were up for awhile but the Ravens hung around. Browns have a tough schedule.

Bucs -9@ Chiefs: Time to go to the textbook, page 62, in Chapter 3 "I like money" the trend says always take a favorite of 6.5 or more going into a bye week. The trend is also 30-5 ATS since 2002. Me Likey! That being said Tyler Thigpen was the greatest QB of all time last week! After that performanceI penciled in the Chiefs to play Central Mich in the Motor City Bowl, I see at least 3 turnovers from the Chiefs, Thigpen will have a tough time with Kiffen multiple look blitz packages. The Bucs need this win as they are looking up at the Panthers, a team that they boatraced and who hot-air balloned the Chiefs, while Thigpen had a good week passing the Jets pass D is worse than my LSAT score. Get in on this quick, as Vegas is realizing they screwed the pooch on this line. 2 Units. Loss. Bye bye money. The Bucs are my most hated team in the NFL and that is beside the fact they have never covered for me. Hey Bucs, Matt Ryan is gonna torch u in Atlanta and one more thing, go fuck yourselves.

Texans +4.5 @Minniesota: I like this game, good value in the Texans. Matt Shaub is on fire and even The Blanket can't cover Andre Johnson. The Vikings have a rush defense, but their pass rush and pass defense is spotty at best. That being said The Texans defense is not all that great, Peterson will have a big day, setting up play action for Frerotte. The trends show heavy casual betting on the Vikings, my money will be on Matt Shaub and the Texans. 2 Units. Loss. Bye bye money. I forgot that Matt Shaub is made of Fabrege Egg, Texans blow.

That's all the games I have done so far, I will post the rest with my college picks soon. I will close with a text conversation I had with my battle Billy Vegas on Sunday.

1:00 PM me: Its money time battle!!

Billy Vegas: nah, I have to watch a movie

me: Die, a movie about what?

Billy Vegas: Gandhi

me: lmao!! homo.

(15 minutes later)

Billy Vegas: Bye Bye Gandhi, should have had is IBA on!!

me: ROTFLMAO!!!!

My thoughts on this weekend's football

I used to be a rabid NFL fan, but as the last few years have passed my intrerest has been waining rapidly. I also used to be a fan of the NBA, now I would rather watch grass grow than be forced to watch an NBA game. The NBA is full of cry babies with more shoe deals than points. Im not impressed that you scored 40 pts in a game when you go 20 for 80 from the field and the fouls every *^*&%)* 2 seconds. Snoooooooooooooooooze fest. Hockey is MUCH more entertaining then the NBA only problem is their are no pre madonna's in the NHL.

Now I come to another thought, has officiating gone from bad to horrible? As a "professional" gambler I get stressed out enough when I have a spread to cover, so not only do I have to bet against the other team's performance, I also have to bet against those crooked refs. Case in point the Giants game today, a bs personal foul for a late hit on Kenny Phillips? Bullshit, what about the 3 BLATANT holds the Steelers got away with? On these terrible calls the refs should be fired immediately after the game. Another example was the hit on South Carolina QB Steven Garcia, because of that play I lost money on that game, there is NO doubt in my mind that the ref deliberately went to hit Garcia, no doubt, there were several different areas he could have moved too.

After looking at the new AP Top 25 today, I laughed to myself when I saw USF (my alma matter) ranked #23. USF should not be ranked anywhere near the top 25. I have spent many years defending my school's football team, but now I am done. Its time for Jim Leavitt and Greg Gregory to get fired. 8 yards of rushing against Louisville are you kidding me? The offense just stands around looking at Matt Grothe all day long, make a play or surrender your scholarship. So do yourselves a favor and lose the rest of your games USF so you can be all alone in last place in the medicore Big East where you belong.

Other questions I asked myself with regards to the top 25 were as follows:

1.) Why is FSU ranked?
2.) Why is Ohio St ranked?
3.) Why is Oklahoma St ranked 9th behind teams such as Georgia, USC??? Oklahoma St should be ranked 4th the way I see it.

That's all I have for now, Ill be counting the money I won this weekend if you need me.

Week 8 NFL Picks

After an 8-5 Saturday with alot of profit here is a quick rundown of my NFL picks:

Titans -4 vs Colts: bye bye Colts, Titans easily.

Giants +3 @ Steelers: No Santonio Holmes or Willie Parker.

Seahawks +5@ 49ers: O'sillivan blows and his team hates him, don't judge Seattle by their performance vs the Bucs.

Chargers -3 vs Saints: Im selling on the Saints, especially with no Bush, they suck.

Jets-14 @ Chiefs: Chiefs hate winning and covering and they are afraid of points and have endzonephobia.

Eagles-9 vs Falcons: Falcons are a fraud, Matt Ryan will get broke in half and be sucking his thumb during halftime.

Raiders +7 @ Ravens: They Ravens blow, Raiders D keeps them in this one.

Rams +8 @ Patriots: Pats shouldn't be laying 8 to anyone, Rams aren't scared of anyone right now. Pats win by 2.

Go get paid!

The rest of my week 9 college football action!!

Alright readers I am going to drop a massive amount of pics on you, read slowly and try not to go into cardiac arrest until you get to spend the money you make off my picks. I am writing from an undisclosed area due to the fact Vegas is after me and Banter Theory for taking all their money last Saturday. I am introducing a new system to show the level of confidence I have in each of my picks. The new system will be called the "Hello Money" rating, the game will be rated 1 through 5, 5 being the best. Here we go people:

UNLV +22.5 @ BYU: Hello Money 5: UNLV is not to be underestimated, they have two quality wins against BCS conference opponents. Not to mention BYU could not cover against Utah St. BYU wins by 10.

Virginia +11.5 @ Georgia Tech: Hello Money 2: Virginia is playing with confidence and GT struggled with Gardner-Webb. GT wins by a FG.

Oklahoma -19@ Kansas St: Hello Money 3: Oklahoma is lying in wait, Bama will lose........soon, and Texas has its hands full every week. Kansas St's defense will get lit up by Bradford.

TCU-31.5 vs Wyoming: Hello Money 5: TCU is underrated, they ghetto blasted the BYU whities back to Utah, TCU's only loss was to powerhouse Oklahoma. Wyoming will never see the endzone.

Nortwestern -8@ Indiana: Hello Money 2: Indiana is terrible and they want to make you money, Northwestern covers nicely.

Boise St -7.5 @ San Jose St: Hello Money 3: Boise St. like to make you money and destroyed a Hawaii team that SJSU squeaked by. Broncos easy.

Minnie +1 @ Perdon't: Hello Money 1: Minnie likes to cover and Perdue hates winning.

Kentucky +24.5 @ Florida: Hello Money 3: 24.5 is alot of points for any SEC game. Florida wins but not by more than 3 TD's.

Auburn +3@ West Virginia: Hello Money 3: The Mountaineers only dropped 16 on the Orange in Morgantown, "Small Game" Tommy needs this one, even if he has to play QB himself.

USF -4.5 @ L'ville: Hunter Cantwell is standing one leg, if USF cant get to him im going to put my degree in the shredder and pawn the rest of my season tickets. Leavitt rallies the troops for a statement game, USF comfortably, hopefully just like last years score!!

That's it my minions of money making, you might want to purchase a wheelbarrow to transport your cash to the nearest FDIC insured depository. I am feeling it for Saturday.........BIG TIME!!!

Week 9 NCAA Football Action

After an excellent Saturday of money making, Im back with some early picks so you too can nationalize Vegas's bank account!! Myself and Billy Vegas over at the Game theory blog are cooking up some "hello money specials", here is a peek at some of my action so far:

Kansas -2 vs. Texas Tech: The Red Raiders will get a taste of their own medicine on Saturday in Lawrence. Kansas has 2 losses to two solid football teams, both of these losses were on the road. The Jayhawks are still in the hunt for a Big 12 title. Texas Tech has not impressed me, especially on defense, Nebraska found their weakness and almost pulled out the upset in Lubbock. Look for Reesing to have a HUGE day, connecting to Briscoe for touchdowns. This is a HUGE game for Kansas, almost a must win. Jayhawks by 7.

Oklahoma St. +13 @ Texas: Please do not discount the Pokes my friend, this is a solid team and they have played Texas tought the last two years. Both times Texas had to come back from big deficits to pull out the victory. I think Texas wins this game, but 13 is a big number for a Texas team coming off 2 huge games, lets not forget my friends the Pokes put it on Mizzou at home two weeks ago. Hello Money!! Longhorns by 6.

Penn St. -2.5@ Ohio St: to qoute the Sunshine Scooter "not so fast my friends" Penn St has yet to let me down this year and i like money, that being said Ohio St. beat a medicore team in Michigan St and that is about it, Penn St. had a scare put into them by Michigan early but they recovered nicely. Terrell Pryor will be pressured by Penn St's defense and forced to make some bad decisions. Penn St. by 10.

Thats my early preview, I will be back with a couple more picks before gameday, enjoy!!

Week 7 NFL action, picks, spreads

This is going to be short and to the point, since no one reads this blog anyways. I guess you all hate money. NFL winners ATS this Sunday will be as folows:

Giants -10 vs. 49ers: Giants big 34-6

Cowboys -7 @ Rams: Cowboys big 41-10

Chiefs +9 vs. Titans: Chiefs keep it close, Titans have a VERY tough schedule coming up Titans 17- 13.

Saints +3 @ Carolina: Saints win by 3.

Texans -9 vs Lions: Texans 38-14.

Colts -2 @ Packers: Colts win by 4.

Redskins -7.5 vs Browns: Redskins 24-14

Tampa Bay -11 vs. Seahawks: Seattle will get crushed, go heavy on this game Bucs 34-10.

Broncos +3 @ Patriots: Patriots suck Shanahan is 5 and 1 against the hoodie and now he has a better team. BRONCOS HUGE, put your mortgage on this game. Broncos 34-10.

That's it.

My thoughts on the Tampa Bay Rays

Upon moving to Tampa I supported the then Devil Rays, I went to their spring training games as well as regular season games, on a good day there was maybe 10,000 people there. I would cheer for them as long as they weren't playing my beloved Yankees. Right now I am cheering for the Red Sox to come back in this ALCS game 5. The Red Sox are trailing by 1 run right now. That's correct readers, I am a lifelong Yankees fan cheering for the Red Sox. Why you ask?? Its because I absolutely despise, hate and loathe the Rays. What an arrogant bunch they are, management always complaining about the Yankees, always crying and bitching like a 3 year old with a toothache. Shut up, you have not done anything since your inception. The worst is the Rays fans, what a classless bunch. I cant even go to a game and watch my Yankees play without some drunk Rays "fan" starting with me and every time it did not end well for that fan as I am 6'3" and 225lbs and do not tolerate people throwing beverages at me or threatening my family. Im tired of all the crap in the paper about the "small market" team. Umm Tampa is not a small market, they have four professional sports teams, not to mention my alma matter USF Bulls. As an economics major, I have quite a bit of knowledge of sports economics. Revenue sharing is a big part of sports, teams like the Yankees, Red Sox and Mets pay luxury tax which is spread to the "small market" teams, like the Royals and Mariners. If the Rays did not sell one ticket allllllll year they would still make money due to tv contracts, road gate receipts, licensing etc. So lets say they average 15,000 in attendance and say the average ticket price is $35.00 then times that by the number of games, 81. The total would be $42,525,000, now that was a low estimate on attendance and ticket prices. As we know the Rays participate in 2nd degree price discrimination for what they call "premium games" this is intended to capture consumer surplus from Yankee and Red Sox fans. Now that total does not include concessions, parking, merchandise (team store), nor does it include road game revenue which is split 70% to 30% I believe. Not to mention the tax payers pick up the tab for the field they play in, but yet they still complain about wanting a new stadium, who do you think you are Rays? Maybe Anchorage, Alaska is looking for an MLB team and your girl Sarah Palin can build you new stadium they could call it "Wolf Killer Stadium" that would be great because then I wouldn't have to look at your team, fans or hear your homer announcers Magrane and Staats complain about every fucking ball and strike that is made. Right now the Red Sox are tied with the Rays 7-7. LET'S GO RED SOX!! In closing I would like to say get some class Rays and Rays fans learn something about baseball before you open your mouth and have some respect for other teams and their fans.

Recap of Thursday nights action

Me and my battle Billy Vegas from Game Theory started off with an impressive 2 and 0. I took TCU -1 and Billy Vegas took NC State +12. BYU was dominated much to my delight, I am sick and tired of hearing about this garbage team and their winning streak against teams who came into division 1 football yesterday, bye bye BYU go back to Utah, bow to Warren Jeffs, marry multiple 13 year old girls and churn butter and then go fuck ya selves.

Week 8 College Footbal Action.............

To quote Mr. Krab's of Sponge Bob fame "I like money" after a rather dismal week #7 I became angry and shoved my whole account on Hawaii -8, when I woke up on Sunday morning it was like Christmas morning!! My account multiplied like rabbits , of course I have to thank my battle Billy Vegas of game theory for that action. I finished Sunday and Monday going 5 and 0 hitting a 3 game parlay as well. Here is some of my action for this Saturday:

TCU pk vs. BYU: This should be a good game, I have the Horned Frogs winning by 7. TCU sleep walked through Colorado St. last week looking foward to this game. I am not on the BYU bandwagon, they should have lost to Washington and UCLA blows. Bye bye Max Hall, bye bye Bronco Mendenhall or whatever your name is.

Penn St. -23.5 vs Michigan: With Penn St. playing Ohio St next weekend look for Michigan to stay close in this game..................................................I m just kidding Penn St. will roll like crowds at a handicapped convention! OH!! Penn St has not beaten Michigan since I was in high school, so the Nittany Lions are going to maul Rich Rod and his Wolverines (sorry battle) I think Joe Pa will run the score up in this game to alleviate 13 years of Penn St frustration. My advice for this game is to load up, go to Amscott and bounce a check if you have to my friends cause this one is going to be hard to watch from a Wolverine perspective. My prediction Penn St. 73 Michigan 0.

Kansas +21 at Oklahoma: Oklahoma will no doubt win this game but 21 points is a big number. I dont know how Oklahoma can be charged up for this game after their loss to Texas last week. Their national title hopes are dashed, Bradford will put up numbers but so will Reesing. Oklahoma 34 Kansas 21.

Georgia -14.5 vs Vandy: Vandy was a sexy pick, but me and Billy Vegas called their demise last week on our upset special. Vandy will phone this one in between the hedges, Georgia will be too much for them. Georgia 31 Vandy 7

Texas -6 vs Mizzou: I pat myself on the back after hitting Okaloma St against Mizzou last week. I think Texas is a little bit better than Oklahoma St. though, plus they are at home Texas wins and gives me back my money they took from me last week.........with interest, Texas wants to remain undefeated and Colt "Can I run yet?" Mccoy wants to outshine Tebow in the Heisman race. Texas 28 Mizzou 17

Go get paid my friends and enjoy the fruits of my research!! I will be back shortly with my NFL action for this week as I have ALOT of games coming up!

Early look at week 6 action............

The Blanket is back after a depressing week #4, thankfully I received a government bailout and got my internet turned back on!! I think I have been spending to much time around Top "Bye Bye Money" Constantino!! The Blanket went 2-0 on Saturday with Texas Tech and Texas raising my bank account faster than the national debt! The Blanket went 1-0-1 on Sunday, with the Colts covering and a Titans push. I waved bye bye to my 5 team parlay on monday night thanks to that garbage team from New Orleans. I have added a new pick to my weekly action, not only do I have the Upset Special, but I have added my new "Bye Bye Money" special, this is a game that I feel you want to stay away from. Here is my early action:

Troy -4.5 @ FAU: I took this game because Rusty Smith is struggiling mightily, the Trojans are 2-2 with losses to OSU and OSU (Buckeyes and Cowboys) and the Owls are 1-4. Even though this game is at home FAU will lose. Troy covers comfortably.

UPSET SPECIAL: Northwestern +3 vs. Michigan St.: Look for Northwestern to win this game outright, it will be a close contest throughout. Northwestern is 5-1 ATS versus Michigan St. Northwestern is 5-0 Michigan St. is 4-1, neither has a quality win, but i have to stay with Northwestern is this game.

BYE-BYE MONEY SPECIAL: Ball St. -16 @ Western Kentucky: Testicle Tech is ranked for the first time in the history of time. 16 is a big number for a unproven team, WKU has had a brutal schedule and will stay in this game, Testicle Tech. wins but doesn't cover.

The Blanket's Early Week #4 Action

Am I the only one who thinks Suzy Kolber is hot? Shhhhhhh its OK Suzy, me big strong American man!! After a very UnBlanket like performance this weekend (5-5 ATS) I would like to say sorry to my legions of fans, I was able to finish in the black thanks to my college action (6-2 ATS) and a big cover by the Cowboys to stop the bleeding! I was about to ask Henry Paulson for a govt bailout! Here are some early peaches:

Broncos -9 @ Chiefs: The Chiefs made Matt Ryan look like Joe Montana. Jay Cutler will pass for 600 yards while banging all the Chiefs cheerleaders. On a serious note the Broncos have been getting hammered in the press by complaining NFL coaches. To quote my good friend Billy Vegas "Don't be bitter, be better" Cutler, Marshall and Young have big games, maybe there will even be a Champ Bailey sighting!

Titans -3 vs. Vikings: Kerry Collins over Gus Ferrotte, Titans at home, Jeff Fisher over Brad Childress. Enough said. Titans have been a money train for me so far this year. Titans defense is like my wallet, they don't give up anything!!

Bills -8 @ Rams: Bills owe me money after they shit the bed against the Raiders, hopefully they come out charged up and act like they are an NFL team and not the USF Bulls. Are the Rams even trying?

That is what I have so far some trap games out this weekend "caveat emptor" on the Packers vs. Bucs and the Comboys vs. Redskins, 11 1/2 is a big number in a NFC East rival game.

Country Roads take me home............

Almost heaven West Virginia, Blue Ridge Mountains, Shenandoah River??? My Siberian Huskie watched in terror as the pride of her home state was soundly beaten by the Buffs of Colorado. To quote John Denver "Misty taste of moonshine, tear drop in my eye" The Mountaineers are garbage. They also ruined the Big East's 2008 unbeaten record against the Big 12. In other news another hurricane is scheduled to hit Texas tomorrow at about 3:30, I will enjoy watching Robert Marve pass all over the field while my homer brother watches his Texas A&M Aggies get front lean and rested, Miami's D will shut down A&M on offense leading to a nice cover. What the hell does A&M stand for anyway Agriculture & Mechanics????

The Blanket's Tentative Week #3 NFL Picks

After an 8-2 week ATS and 14-1 straight up NFL week #3 looks pretty tasty to me. Here are some of The Blanket's early picks:

Falcons -4 over the Chiefs- The Falcons are at home and the Chiefs are hot garbage. The Falcons showed no quit in them against Tampa Bay. Matt Ryan is growing, Mike Smith has this team playing hard, Micheal Turner is a beast, he will run for 250 yards. Kansas City's run defense is similar to my dating life, they dont have one!

Bills -9 1/2 over the Raiders- The Bills are for real and they are at home, this game could get ugly real early, don't be afraid to load up on this one.

Bears -3 over the Bucs- Bears are a decent team and they take this one at home. Bucs are beat up and are depleted at WR. Griese is medicore at best, and Atlanta gift wrapped that game in week #2. Bears cover.

Panthers +4 at Minniesota- Steve Smith is back, Delhomme looks solid and the Panthers D is tough. I am not sold on the Vikings, Jackson is struggling and their receivers dont like to catch footballs, I dont care how good the defense is, if you cant score you cant win.

49ers-4 at home to the Lions- Im on the fence with this pick, but the 49ers are pretty tough at home, the Lions can score points and they can also give them up.

Chargers -9 1/2 at home to the Jets- Chargers are 0 and 2, they will put up big points on the Jets to prevent a last second score by Favre. Jets were a 4 and 10 team last year and were unimpressive against a garbage Dolphins team. Chargers D needs to step it up, they have had about 70 pts hung on them, even though it was by two good teams.

Look for updates to my picks throughout the week.

My dislike of Ohio State

Why does this team get soooo much hype, EVERY year I have to listen about how great they are. Who have the beaten? A downtrotten Michigan team, Notre Lame? Spare me. Also spare me the sweater vest bullshit. Hey Tressell you can't win a big game, maybe you should call Jim Leavitt for some tips. Enough is enough with Tyrell Pryor, big deal a running QB, how did that work out for Mike Vick? I can think of several college QB's that are far better than Pryor will ever be on his best day. If you need examples here you go: Texas Tech's Graham Harrell, Oklahoma's Sam Bradford, Mizzou's Chase Daniel's, Kansas Todd Reesing, USC's Mark Sanchez. Mr. Pryor has done nothing but tap danced around in the pocket for a 4 yard gain and put his area code on his eye black. Big effen deal, Ohio State blows.

The Blanket

You too can bet like The Blanket

That's right you too can cover like me, I am printing up T-shirts that say "Baby Blanket" they are available for $20 through my website, that way you can be more like me only not as handsome. Despite being a professional gambler, I am very risk averse, I think its the Economist in me. Here are some quick tips to cover football like me, don't bet like a homer, a guy I knew bet $5,000 on Ohio St. against USC in a bowl game 2 years ago, OSU got milk cartoned and he couldn't pay. Start with small bets, $1 or $2 that way you can build a bank up, don't be a hotdog, Vegas has the cash and credit to turn your lights out my friend. Don't always go for the underdog win; it's great that UCLA is +2800 and you drop a dime on them playing USC at home because you want to buy the Hooter's waitress some new cans so you can do the motorboat, you motorboating son of a bitch, you old sailor you!!! But don't do that its stupid and Vegas loves taking money from stupid people. One smart thing is to place a chalk bet, what I like to call a "Blanket Hedge Fund" for instance if there is a moneyline up on a heavy favorite set up a little 2 game parlay for example USC -500 @ Cal Poly San Abysmal and Oklahoma @ Texas A&M, Oklahoma -750, those small bets are good for your bank account. Also look into "Sweet Heart Teasers" take 2 or 3 games that you a VERY confident of, add 10 points to the fav and make a small wager. The biggest thing is dont get caught up in the hype, I tend to do this with college football ALOT, the lines come out and I get excited and my friend Billy Vegas has to talk some sense into me. Do your research, I have a math formula that I use to cover NFL games and it has proven to be rather effective. Good luck to you in covering your college and NFL action. Remember, in gambling hindsight is always 20/10.

As The Blanket Covers

NFL week #2 and I went 7 and 2 against the spread, straight cash. While flipping through the sports section today in "The Tampa Tribune" sports writer Ira Kaufman, went 4 and 9 with his picks straight up. Of the 13 NFL games today I have gone 12 for 13 on straight up pics. Check my Yahoo! Pro Football Pick'em week 2 stats, id is The Blanket and see for yourself. At this point in time I would say that I am better than 90% of the Vegas handicappers. With Billy Vegas covering all the college action we are more profitable than rich whitey himself, so step your football knowledge game up.
