NFL Week #11 Free Money Report

Need some money, Vegas tends to give out some freebies the week before Black Friday, maybe they will be generous considering they restocked their vaults with our money last weekend. The Blanket is not above taking handouts folks, cash is cash. Lets see what we have.

Panthers -3 Panthers have covered 4 of their last 5, however only 1 of those has been at home. I like going with the home team on these week night games. Ronnie Brown is out for the Dolphins, so its bye bye Wildcat and now Henne has to go against one of the leagues best secondaries on the road on a short week. Peppers has been great so far this year and should give Miami plenty of problems. John Beason is also a force at his LB position. Miami has a good run stop unit, but Williams and Stewart have been on a tear as of late. The Panthers seem to be a team on a mission as of late and they will be tied for second in the NFC South at the end of Sunday because the Falcons will lose to the Giants. Why you ask? Because the Falcons suck, that's why. Delhomme has been playing decent as well lately too and Miami will have to rely on a rookie corner to cover Steve Smith, doesn't sound like too much fun. 5 units. Loss. (Awesome!!)

Browns +4 Yup, I just wrote that. I will recall a recent conversation I had with Billy Vegas. He was unhappy with the Bears offense having trouble scoring on the Browns as they had to settle for several field goals in the early going. The Browns have a great defense, the problem is their offense is so bad they are on the field way too much. The Lions are punch less on defense, ranking near the bottom against the run and the pass. Stafford is still not 100% and the Browns gave the Ravens all kinds of problems on Monday night. The Ravens got only 9 points against the Browns D Monday night (not including the pick 6). Quinn threw 2 picks Monday night and will continue to throw the short crap, bubble screens, jailbreak screens, smoke screens, slip screens, starscream (j/k he is a decepticon). Lewis and company should have success on the ground here so Quinns 5 yard passes will be enough to move the chains here. I just don't think the Lions should be laying points to anyone. The Lions could also come out flat as they put alot into the Vikings game last week, it will be difficult for them to show up for the Browns. 2 units.Win.

Jags -9 The only reason I am taking this game is because the Bills fired Dick Jauron, mid-week. Not good. The Bills will be confused as everyone scrambles to learn their new jobs and come up with a game plan. Owens is doing his usual woe is me routine, and the Bills also have have a QB controversy. Furthermore the Bills cannot stop the run, just ask Chris Johnson. MJD will have a massive day and will have no problems running wild. The Jags are looking to keep pace with the Texans for a possible wildcard berth. The Jags hate covering but that is what the trends say, I am fading trends this week and going with my gut. I am making a small play on this game because I feel the 9 points is a bit much. 1 unit. Loss.

Colts Pick This looks to be the free gift from Vegas I was talking about. Manning seems to have figured it out as he was not sharp against the last three teams he has faced. Sad fact is that the Colts own the Ravens. The Ravens have some injuries on defense and I don't like their beleaguered secondary to stop Manning either. Freeney and Mathis will be neutralized in this game as Gaither and Oher are outstanding tackles, but Flacco is not Tom Brady. Ray Rice should be productive here. The Colts have a very talented secondary and should be able to handle Baltimore's WR's with little problems. So it boils down to Manning versus the Ravens CB's and Safeties and Ray Rice versus the Colts D-line and LB's. T Sizzle is out for this game thanks to Brady Quinn taking a cheap shot on him. I also think that Trevor Pryce is a little banged up for this contest. 5 units. Win.

Steelers -10 I expect a pissed off Steelers squad to show up in this game. The Steelers really need this game to stay in the Wildcard fight as it looks like they will be unable to catch the Bengals after a season sweep. The Steelers also have the Ravens nipping at their heels. The Chiefs lost Dwanye Bowe for 4 games, ouch. Chambers is too old and Lance Long is not the Wes Welker people are trying to make him into. Cassell will struggle in this game, the Steelers cannot be run on so Jamaal Charles will have a tough day on the ground. The Steelers have not been covering this year but as I said before they really need this game and should not be messing around with the lowly Chiefs. Rothlisberger has too many weapons for KC to account for, if only Matt Cassell had that problem. Troy Polamalu should be playing in this game, lets hope their secondary makes some plays. 2 units. Loss.

Vikings -11 I expect the Seahawks will just mail this one in as their season is all but over. Forsett will not be able to run against the Williams Wall and Winfield will be back for the Vikings so Burleson might go another game without making a catch. The Seahawks run stop has been doing anything but that, now they have to face the premier back in the NFL. Peterson should have a huge day here. Matt Hassellbeck has no pass protection even with Locklear returning the Cards got to him several times. How do you think Jared Allen will fare? Good? How do you think our accounts will fare? Even better! 3 units.Win.

Redskins +11 Cowboys looked like dogshit last week, and could be doubting themselves here. The Redskins took apart a Broncos team that is coming back down to earth. Romo has no help, Williams is garbage and Austin will be covered tightly as the Redskins have a solid secondary. Who does that leave? Crayton? hahahahah!! Maybe Whitten. Barber is still banged up and Romo has protection problems with Columbo going down with a broken fibula. Mike Jenkins and Ken Hamlin also got nicked up last week so they could be iffy. Haynesworth is also iffy for this game. I am siding with the Redskins here due to the fact that this division game and is usually tightly contested. 1 unit.Win.

Buccaneers +11 The Saints have some injuries piling up, they should show here as Bulger had a solid day against them last week. If Freeman can protect the football this game could end up being very close. The Bucs and Saints flat out do not care for one another. The Saints secondary is really banged Sharper and Greer are among them and Brees has not exactly been lighting it up lately either. Freeman at home should be able to keep the Bucs close, they are a dangerous team right now and will fight the whole game. 1 unit.Loss.

Cardinals -9 Looks like future HOF'er Kurt Warner is getting healthy, he has been looking alot better as of late and could be benefiting from a run game that has vastly improved. The Cardinals run stop unit has been taking on water as of late so they really need to concentrate on stopping Steven Jackson, who just refuses to lay down and quit. If they load the box for Jackson the secondary for the Cards is good enough to shut down the passing game. Rodgers-Cromartie held Burelson to zero catches last Sunday, good times. The Cards have a tendency to beat up on the Rams, and it should continue here. I don't think Kurt Warner is yet satisfied with pummeling the team that left him for dead. 3 units.Loss.

Jets +11 If the Pats played anyone else but the Colts prior to this game I would take them as The Hoodie and Brady never lose two games in a row. The Pats tend to shit their pants after playing the Colts. The Jets desperately need this game and should keep it close, but will fall short in the end. The Pats D is suspect right now and the Hoodie knows it. The Jets will focus on slowing down Moss and Welker in this contest as the Pats have not had much of a running game to speak of lately. 1 unit. Loss.

Bengals -10 Any doubters left on the Bengals? Didn't think so. Russel Un-athletic has been benched in favor of Charlie Frye, good luck with that against the Bengals bracket coverage. Cincy will be without Benson for a while, this resulted in them signing shit bag Larry Johnson. The Raiders will have no success running the ball as Al Davis refuses to use Bush and Fargas, opting to go with 1st round bust Mcfadden. Good luck with that. Palmer has struggled throwing the ball sans the Bears contest, but I think turnovers will show here for the Raiders and the Bengals will capitalize on them. 1 unit.Loss.

Chargers -6 No spread on this game due to Kyle Orton's ankle problems. Why is Chris Simms employed? He is garbage I think he completed 3 passes for 11 yards in the ass beating they took at the hands of the Redskins. The Broncos are gassed and are beginning their much anticipated free fall. Phillip Rivers is unstoppable and LT actually had some running lanes last week and had two rushing touchdowns and 97 yards. Rivers should have another big day here as the wheels have come off Denver's bandwagon. 3 units.Win.

Eagles -3 How is Andy Reid still employed? RUN THE BALL!!!!! It's not that difficult. The Eagles are missing Westbrook who had yet another concussion, sad for him as he has been a quality player for years. Mcnabb has young studs Celek, McCoy, Maclan, and Jackson. How are the Bears going to possibly cover them? The offensive line for the Bears is garbage as is the play calling. Cutler has no WR's to throw to, Olsen is his only consistent option. I don't trust Cutler against the Eagles secondary, Samuels and Brown are notorious route jumpers and will be gambling against an inexperienced WR corps looking to intercept the risk taking Cutler. The Bears won't have much success running against the Eagles and conversely the Bears have no pass rush to speak of, this gives McNabb plenty of time to throw the ball 80 times in this contest. 3 units.Win.

Titans +5 This should be an exciting Monday night game. Two young teams on the rise. The Texans are a solid team but I am not sure if they are ready to be laying 5 points in this spot. Chris Johnson is unstoppable and the Texans are middle of the pack against the run. The Texans have no running game to speak of and that will force Schaub to throw the ball to move the chains and he is missing Owen Daniels his favorite target. The Titans have bolstered their secondary with the insertion of Rod Hood. The Texans on the other hand have a pedestrian secondary and VY will not be hesitant to throw against them. Add that up with his ability to scramble and Chris Johnson racking up yardage. I like the 5 points here. 5 units.Win.
